{"id":1552394,"url":"https://alion.io/job/multimatic-material-planner","title":"Material Planner","company":{"id":1808389,"name":"Multimatic","domain":"multimatic.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/multimatic","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":75,"open_postings":17,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":null,"computed_at":"2026-10-10T05:45:15Z"}},"role":"Operations","role_family":"Operations","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Newmarket, Canada"],"countries":["CA"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":42640,"max":63627,"currency":"CAD","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":44664},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":2,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-18T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-18","last_verified_at":"2026-10-12T02:48:05Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":24,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":24},"description":"Key Responsibilities:\nSchedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimize stock levels.\nSend releases to suppliers daily/weekly based on MRP requirements and ensure material availability and adherence to frozen schedule.\nEnsure appropriate release maintenance through potential changes of MRP requirements, communicate and manage changes with vendors as necessary.\nPlan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from suppliers to point of delivery.\nManage working relationship with the vendors to ensure undisrupted flow of components/raw material.\nDay - to - day order management and management of deliveries and set up expedites when necessary.\nTake follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.\nSupport Finance in dealing with Receiving/invoicing issues.\nCommunicate receiving discrepancies to vendors.\nUpdate and maintain supplier performance database.\nUnderstand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule.\nUtilize any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.\nMonitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and update MRP parameters as required.\nMonitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.\nSupport inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.\nAssist in month end and year-end inventory.\nManage and minimize obsolescence stock.\nAssist and monitor procedures, methods, and policies designed to improve MRP control efficiency and company profitability.\nAdvise management of any potential problems or concerns and any opportunities for improvement.\nMeet or exceed all objectives and requirements of the business plan.\nAnswer DDL Ford system on assigned days where applicable.\nImport and review Customer releases, update ERP/MRP accordingly.\nInput, update, and review customer CSA’s as needed.\nSend advance ship notice to customers (ASN).\nUpdate and submit as required COO and CUSMA documents to customer portals.\nMonitor and access customer portals for Notifications and distribute as required.\nCommunicate with customer on any parts supply issues.\nFollow all departmental and general procedures where applicable. \nPerform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager. \nAbide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA. \nWork in compliance and conform to Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards. \nAdopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities. \nBasic Requirements:\nCompletion of a college diploma in a related field.\nTwo years’ of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.\nTwo years’ of experience in inventory control.\nGood knowledge of MRP systems and computers.\nProficient in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word).\nStrong understanding of production planning scheduling.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nThis job posting is for an existing vacancy.
