Scope of Position:\nReporting to the General Manager, the Materials Manager provides leadership for materials planning, inventory control, warehousing, and material flow activities across MAMT's Composites, Fabrication, and Multimatic Woodbine Tool operations. The role is accountable for material availability, inventory accuracy, traceability, working capital management, and continuous improvement of supply chain processes in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.\n2. Key Responsibilities\nLead materials planning, stores teams across MAMT locations.\nSupport customer program launches and engineering changes by ensuring material readiness, inventory strategies, and supplier capacity planning.\nEnsure material availability for production, prototypes, tooling projects, and customer schedules.\nOwn SAP materials processes, including MRP, master data, BOMs, inventory transactions, and production supply.\nDevelop and execute strategies to improve inventory turns, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and optimize working capital while maintaining customer service levels.\nManage storage, kitting, internal movement, outside processing, and inter-site transfers\nMaintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, transaction controls, and corrective actions.\nMonitor capacity constraints, lead-time risk, shortages, premium freight, and inventory exposure; lead corrective and recovery actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.\nIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks related to supplier capacity, transportation disruptions, material shortages, business continuity, and geopolitical factors.\nProvide leadership, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and employee development for materials, and stores personnel.\nEstablish performance objectives and ensure training and competency development plans are maintained for all direct reports.\nImprove inventory, warehouse layout, replenishment, packaging, and material flow using Lean and 5S principles.\nCoordinate transportation, customs documentation, and cross-border shipments.\nSupport sourcing, engineering changes, supplier development, program launches, and production readiness.\nReport KPIs for material availability, inventory accuracy, supplier delivery, premium freight, inventory turns and working capital.\nEnsure compliance with health and safety, environmental, quality-system, customer, and company requirements.\nundefined\nProduct-Line-Specific RequirementsComposites: Control prepreg, resins, adhesives, cores, inserts, and consumables using batch traceability, shelf-life, out-time, temperature, and first-expiry-first-out controls.\nFabrication: Manage sheet, tube, plate, hardware, weldments, and outside processes with effective grade, heat or lot identification and WIP control.\nMWT: Support milestone-driven die and tooling projects, including steel, castings, standard components, outsourced machining, heat treatment, project BOMs, WIP, and finished-tool shipments.\nIntegrated Operations: Coordinate intercompany tooling and component flows among Composites, Fabrication, and MWT.\nKey Performance Indicators\nOn-Time Delivery\nInventory Accuracy\nInventory Turns\nWorking Capital\nPremium Freight Cost\nSupplier On-Time Delivery\nMaterial Shortages\nSchedule Adherence\nWarehouse Safety Performance\nPhysical Inventory Accuracy\nCustomer Delivery Ratings\n3. Key Relationships:\nGeneral Manager, Controller and Department Managers\nLogistics team, Program Managers and Supervisors \n4. Qualifications:\nDegree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum seven years of progressive materials, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing operations experience, including leadership responsibility in a multi-site manufacturing environment\nExperience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing; composites, fabrication, stamping, tool-and-die, or project manufacturing experience is preferred.\nStrong SAP MM/PP, MRP, inventory control, BOM, production-order, logistics, and warehouse-management knowledge; SAP S/4HANA experience is an asset.\nWorking knowledge of IATF 16949 or ISO 9001, ISO 14001, traceability, customs, and trade compliance.\nStrong leadership, analytical, financial, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365; Power BI experience is an asset.\n Preferred certifications: ASCM/APICS CPIM or CSCP, Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), or an equivalent recognized supply chain credential. Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset.\nAbility to work across multiple facilities and support both production and milestone-driven tooling operations. \n5.
