Co-located with Multimatic’s prototype manufacturing and Motorsports team enables industry leading rapid development cycles through strong collaboration.\nThe Role\nMultimatic’s Mechanisms Engineering team is looking for talentedSeniorDesign Engineers to help create innovative solutions for the world’s leading OEMs. Our team develops everything from Side Door Hinges to advanced motion systems, including Active Aerodynamicdevices and PowerDoor™ actuators. In this role, you’lltake automotive components from concept through to high-volume production, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.\nKey Responsibilities\nDrive continuous improvement in design process and product performance\n\nGenerating innovative design concepts to satisfy OEM customer requirements\n\nCreate and maintain3D CAD models, drawings with GD&T, and engineering documentation such as DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, tolerance stack-ups and other engineering calculations\n\nLead product development through defining and reviewing virtual and physical validation studies\n\nWork in close partnership with program management, processand quality teams at Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions to support DFM, DFA, and VA/VE activities.\n\nCollaborate with Multimatic’s Electronics and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions for powered mechanisms\n\nHands-on assembly of new design concepts to support prototype builds, testing, and validation\n\nCommunicate directly with customers to understand technical requirements, provide design solutionsand program updates\n\nProvidetechnical mentorship to support knowledge sharing\n\nQualifications & Skills\nBachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline\n\n8+ years of progressive experience in automotivecomponentdesign\n\nProven leadership of major programs from concept development through production release\n\nDemonstratedtrack recordof driving and executing key product and technology initiatives\n\nAdvancedproficiencyin 3D modeling and 2D GD&T documentation (CATIA or NX preferred)\n\nDeepexpertisein kinematics, materialsselection, and design for high-volume manufacturing and assembly\n\nExperience defining and validating product requirements, including DVP&R development and execution\n\nStrong background in product risk assessment methodologies, including DFMEA\n\nLed structured root cause analysis and implemented corrective actions\n\nExceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail\n\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments\n\nGenuine passion for mechanical design and the automotive industry\n\nWhy Join Us?\nAt Multimatic, you’ll learn from and work alongside some of the industry’s leading experts in a supportive team culture that offers numerous opportunities for professional growth and development.
