With expanding facilities around the world, including in Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, Mexico, Japan and China, there is always room in Multimatic’s growing team for people who share a dedication to technical excellence, quality and enthusiasm.\nScope of Position:\nThe Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that materials, components, and services supplied to the organization consistently meets customer, engineering, quality, and production requirements. The position works closely with suppliers, Materials, AQP, Production, and Quality to prevent quality issues, resolve supplier related concerns, support new product launches, and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base. The role is responsible for working with suppliers to contain quality issues, supplier quality performance, including, PPAP, supplier audits, corrective actions, root cause analysis, DMN’s, process improvement, and supplier\ndevelopment. The Supplier Quality Engineer may also be required to travel to supplier locations to support audits, trials, containment, and problem resolution\nKey Responsibilities and Authorities:\nManage and monitor the quality performance of suppliers.\nPrepares monthly supplier performance reporting.\nFollows up on supplier annuals and layouts.\nWhen a supplier issue is identified the SQE will OWN the issue, from containing the problem at Multimatic to keep our lines running and preventing the issue from escaping to the Customer location(s).\nOngoing daily review and disposition of invnetory in QA’s inventory location\nPerform LPA’s and report non-conformances.\nDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements.\nAuthority to communicate to suppliers.\nSupport Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities with suppliers.\nReview and approve supplier PPAP submissions in accordance with customer requirements, AIAG standards, and Multimatic supplier manual requirements.\nConduct or support supplier process, system, and product audits.\nIdentify supplier quality risks and develop appropriate action plans.\nLead supplier corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone analysis.\nMonitor supplier containment activities and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.\nInvestigate incoming material and component quality issues and coordinate timely resolution.\nWork with suppliers to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.\nSupport new product launches, tooling trials, run-at-rate activities, and production readiness reviews.\nReview supplier process changes and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained before implementation.\nIdentify opportunities for supplier development and continuous improvement.\nParticipate in cross-functional meetings with Materials, Group Purchasing, Supplier Development Group, AQP, Engineering, Production, and Quality.\nSupport customer quality requirements and respond to supplier-related customer concerns.\nEnsure supplier processes comply with applicable IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and Multimatic Supplier Manual.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives, cost-of-poor-quality reduction, and waste reduction activities.\nTravel to supplier and customer locations as required.\nPerform other duties and projects as assigned by management.\nWork Environment:\n50% Office, 50% Manufacturing floor environment.\nOccasional travel to supplier, customer, or sister plant locations\nMust be able to wear appropriate PPE and work in a production setting.\nundefined\nBasic Requirements and Competencies:\nBachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) would be an asset.\nPrevious experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, automotive quality, or related engineering roles.\nStrong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and GD&T.\nExperience with 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and other root cause analysis methodologies.\nKnowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.\nExperience conducting or participating in supplier audits is preferred.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methods.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nExperience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA is an asset.\nExperience in an automotive manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.\nThis job posting is for an existing vacancy.
