About Multiplier

Multiplier is building the world’s leading Global Human Platform - enabling companies to hire, onboard, manage, and pay talent across 150+ countries without friction.

From global payroll and compliance to benefits and contractor management, our platform simplifies complex international employment infrastructure so companies can scale without borders.

As we expand our product surface and deepen our capabilities, design plays a critical role in shaping experiences that are clear, trusted, and scalable across markets.

We are evolving from a centralized studio model into embedded design expertise within product tribes. This shift creates deeper ownership, stronger product intimacy, and higher accountability for outcomes. This is where you come in.

Role Purpose

As Lead Content Designer (Player-Coach), you will both define the craft and practice it hands-on.

You will:

  • Lead content strategy within a tribe.

  • Define voice and tone standards for product.

  • Bridge brand and product language systems.

  • Coach and develop content designers.

  • Remain embedded in complex product work.

This role balances strategic discipline-building with direct product impact. You are not removed from the work. You model it.

Lead Through Craft and Execution

  • Own complex, high-impact product initiatives.

  • Shape language across critical workflows (payroll, compliance, financial actions, onboarding).

  • Define naming systems, taxonomy, and structural clarity.

  • Model best-in-class content design through hands-on delivery.

You set the quality bar by doing the work.

Define and Scale Product Voice

  • Establish scalable voice and tone principles for in-product communication.

  • Align brand positioning with product expression.

  • Guide tonal nuance across contexts and global markets.

  • Ensure terminology and language systems remain coherent as we scale.

You ensure Multiplier speaks with confidence and consistency.

Coach and Elevate the Discipline

  • Line manage and mentor content designers within your tribe.

  • Facilitate critique and craft rituals.

  • Develop designers from tactical copywriting toward structural design thinking.

  • Help teams understand the distinction between:

    • Tech writing (explaining how something works)

    • Content design (defining how it works)

You raise both capability and organizational literacy.

Align and Embed Across the Organization

  • Partner with Brand and Marketing to connect promise and product.

  • Integrate content early in discovery and roadmap conversations.

  • Participate in cross-tribe forums to prevent drift and fragmentation.

  • Contribute to shared systems, governance, and hiring standards.

You ensure content scales coherently across tribes and functions.

What Success Looks Like

You are successful in this role if:

  • Complex global workflows feel understandable and human.

  • Terminology is consistent across tribes.

  • Compliance messaging reduces anxiety rather than amplifies it.

  • Content designers grow measurably under your guidance.

  • Teams involve content at discovery - not just at polish stage.

  • Brand and product language feel intentionally connected.

Your impact is visible in reduced confusion, increased trust, and stronger system coherence.

Scope & Ownership

  • As a player-coach, this role typically balances:

  • ~40-50% hands-on product work

  • ~25-30% people leadership

  • ~15-20% craft standards and rituals

  • ~10-15% cross-tribe alignment

You remain deeply embedded in real product complexity while shaping the broader practice.

What We Value

  • Clarity over cleverness.

  • Systems thinking applied to language.

  • Respectful, direct collaboration.

  • Precision in complex domains.

  • Empathy for global, multicultural audiences.

We believe language is infrastructure - especially in global employment technology.

Who You Are

  • 8-12+ years in content design or UX writing.

  • Proven experience shaping voice and tone systems.

  • Comfortable navigating financial, compliance, or operational complexity.

  • Experienced in coaching or leading other content designers.

  • Able to influence senior stakeholders with structured reasoning.

  • Motivated to build and scale a content discipline.

Multiplier Values in Action

At Multiplier, we believe:

  • Human experiences matter - even in complex systems like payroll and compliance.

  • Clarity beats cleverness - especially when users navigate multi-jurisdictional workflows.

  • People grow people - and world-class teams are built through mentorship, psychological safety, and a shared voice.

This role lives at the intersection of all three - shaping how we think, design, and deliver in a world without limits.

Why Join Now

Multiplier is at an inflection point. As our Global Human Platform grows, clarity becomes a strategic differentiator. The Lead Content Designer (Player-Coach) will define how our product speaks - and how trust is built across borders.

If you want to shape both the work and the discipline - this is the moment.
