They ensure that new production programs are launched effectively, and that existing production programs are supported with continuous improvement in quality, cost and delivery.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \nLead manufacturing engineering team members, providing direction and mentorship.\nManage and foster strong collaboration with Product Development and Manufacturing to ensure alignment and seamless execution.\nParticipate in design reviews and recommend improvements based on Design for Testability (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).\nDevelop and follow-up on product launch activities, including:\nEstablish standardized manufacturing processes\nDevelopment of production processes and tooling.\nReview and approval of manufacturing documentation for new products. \nFollow up on build of new tooling and required sampling of new products.\nSupport new product launches, at times requiring travel to global factories.\nProvide ongoing technical support and continuous improvement of existing products, including:\nWork to improve quality, cost and delivery.\nParticipate in quality issue root causes and corrective/preventive actions.\nSupport capacity planning by assessing test and manufacturing capability relative to projected product volumes.\nDevelop and support relationships with contract manufacturers\nAdhere to MultiTech rules and policies and provide leadership through training and example.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: \n\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:\nEngineering degree, preferably manufacturing, mechanical or electrical/electronics.\n8+ years of relevant experience.\nExposure to medium- to high-volume manufacturing of electronic or electromechanical products.\nBackground in PCBA manufacturing and knowledge of IPC standards.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:\nStrong written and oral English language skills, particularly in technical areas.\nAdditional languages would be an asset.\nAbility to integrate into cross-functional teams including Quality, Design Engineering, Production and Product Management.\nStrong orientation towards data driven thinking and achievement of results.\nUnderstanding of common manufacturing and quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing; PFMEA; PPAP, etc.\nAbility to travel internationally (20-30%).\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS: \nLifting requirements up to 25 pounds.\nRequires sitting for periods of time and occasional standing.\nUse hands to finger, handle or feel.\nReaching required.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: \nWorking conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.\nOur facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area.
