In this role, you’ll work with correspondent banks, clearing partners and payment service providers, helping ensure our payment channels are reliable, compliant and aligned with business needs.\nYou’ll combine relationship management with practical expertise in SWIFT, payment schemes and ISO 20022 messaging. Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll support partner onboarding, resolve service issues and help us respond to changes in the payments industry.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn, develop and maintain correspondent banking, clearing and PSP relationships, acting as primary point of contact.\nEnsure adherence to SWIFT standards and scheme rules; coordinate implementation of SWIFT-related changes with internal stakeholders.\nSupport ISO 20022/scheme messaging topics (e.g. SEPA/RTGS/FPS as applicable) and ensure correct end-to-end implementation with Ops/IT.\nIdentify and develop new correspondent banking opportunities (partners/corridors/products) and drive onboarding and commercialization with internal stakeholders.\nMonitor regulatory and industry developments affecting correspondent banking and payments; assess impact and coordinate required changes internally.\nEnsure adherence with all regulatory requirements related to correspondent banking, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.\nManage partner communications and issue resolution with correspondents/PSPs; coordinate escalations and ensure timely closure of exceptions and service issues.\nNegotiate and maintain commercial terms (fees, pricing, SLAs) for new and existing agreements; maintain an accurate registry of commercial terms and agreements.\nIdentify, assess and mitigate counterparty, country, operational and reputational risks; escalate and recommend risk actions where required.\nWork closely with other departments in the institution to ensure all correspondent banking activities and payment services are serving business needs and are integrated with other business lines.\nSupport business continuity and resiliency planning/testing for key payment and correspondent channels in coordination with other departments.\nPrepare and present reports on correspondent banking activities and payment services to senior management.\nRequired skills and experience:\nProven experience in correspondent banking, transaction banking, payments, or a closely related role within a bank or financial institution.\nStrong understanding of correspondent banking relationships, payment clearing, cross-border payments, and the operational lifecycle of payment services.\nPractical knowledge of SWIFT standards and scheme rules, with experience coordinating SWIFT-related changes or implementations.\nFamiliarity with ISO 20022 and payment schemes such as SEPA, RTGS and Faster Payments, including the ability to coordinate end-to-end implementation with Operations and IT.\nGood understanding of AML, KYC and other regulatory requirements relevant to correspondent banking and payment services.\nExperience managing external banking or PSP relationships, resolving service issues, coordinating escalations and maintaining effective partner communications.\nAbility to assess counterparty, country, operational and reputational risks, identify potential issues and escalate them appropriately.\nExperience negotiating or managing commercial terms, such as fees, pricing and service-level agreements, and maintaining accurate agreement records.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Treasury, Product and IT teams.\nStrong analytical, organisational and communication skills, including the ability to monitor industry developments, assess their impact and present clear reports to senior management.\nA proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to resolution and support business continuity activities.\nThe starting salary for this position is €34,000 gross per year.\nWe offer:\nA Truly Global Workplace - collaborate with 40+ nationalities across 25+ countries, embracing diversity, inclusion, and cross-cultural innovation\n\nHybrid & Flexible Work - balance your life and career with remote-friendly policies and modern offices across Europe\n\nA Culture of Growth - accelerate your development with access to LinkedIn Learning, structured mentorship, and internal leadership programmes (HiPo & People Leader tracks)\n\nWorkation Programme - work remotely from abroad for up to 2 months per year and experience new cultures while staying connected and productive\n\nFinancial Growth Opportunities - invest in your future with our share purchase matching programme, doubling your contributions and fostering long-term rewards\n\nPrivate Health Insurance - access comprehensive healthcare coverage tailored to local standards\n\nWellbeing Benefit - receive an annual wellness allowance to support your physical and mental health\n\nWeekly Office Breakfast - enjoy a fresh start with breakfast at the office\n\nWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support specific parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses against predefined criteria.
