With flexible working, ongoing professional development, and a strong commitment to wellbeing, we give you the support you need to thrive in your career.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nAs the technical expert within your area of registration, you’ll be a key point of contact for other Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team. You’ll apply your Building Regulations expertise to assess and process applications efficiently, while building strong relationships with clients, builders and technical colleagues.\nYou’ll:\nAssess building control applications for low-rise residential developments of up to three storeys, within your RBI class banding.\nAct as the primary client contact during the design phase, including managing design amendments during construction and supporting effective compliance with Building Regulations.\nCheck and monitor projects accurately, ensuring statutory consultations are completed within required timescales and appropriate design evidence is provided.\nContribute to applications for other development types under supervision, supporting the expansion of your experience and scope of registration.\nHelp resolve technical and compliance issues relating to initial notices, design approvals, site work and final certificates.\nSupport Risk Management Surveyors with technical advice and key inspection stages for complex building control elements, in line with supervision and escalation policies.\nCarry out site inspections where required and within your RBI class banding.\nProvide technical support and escalation for Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.\nChampion quality and regulatory compliance, contributing to monitoring, sampling, audit activity and continuous service improvement.\nSupport house type approvals and bespoke building control quotations where required.\nPromote Premier Guarantee services and build positive relationships with existing and potential clients.\nWhat Makes This Role Special\nMeaningful impact: Use your expertise to support safe, compliant residential development and uphold high standards in building control.\nTechnical influence: Become a trusted technical contact for Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team.\nContinuous growth: Broaden your experience and scope of registration through exposure to different developments and technical challenges.\nTrusted brand: Build your career with Premier Guarantee, part of the wider Munich Re family.\nWhat You Bring\nStrong technical knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant construction standards.\nThe ability to undertake site inspections and assess construction quality and building defects.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with construction professionals, clients and members of the public.\nCommercial awareness and a collaborative approach.\nThe ability to manage your own workload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.\nA flexible approach, with the confidence to use your own initiative and positively influence others.\nWhat You’ll Need\nA minimum Associate-level or similar surveying qualification, such as AssocRICS, TechCIOB, Grad CABE, ACABE or equivalent, with the ambition to progress towards full chartered membership.\nRegistration as a minimum Class 2A Registered Building Inspector.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.\nA full UK driving licence (automatic or manual).\nWhat We Offer\n25 days annual leave (with the ability to purchase more), plus 2 wellbeing days and volunteer days.\nAnnual profit share bonus\nFree private medical and dental (with the option to upgrade)\nPension - up to 10% employer contribution\nAccess to health and wellbeing programmes, employee assistance programmes and occupational health support.\nStay connected with mobile phone and tablet devices provided for work\nCycle to work scheme and access to discounts through various retailers with Reward Gateway\nEnhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.\nReimbursement for professional fees\nDiversity, Equity & Inclusion\nAt HSB, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion foster innovation and resilience and enable us to act braver and better.
