The intern will work on real business projects and gain exposure to financial reporting, market analysis, data visualization, automation, and AI-enabled ways of working. This internship will provide an opportunity to work with finance and business partners while developing analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide analytical support for planning, forecasting, and strategic business decisions.\nSupport FP&A activities, including consolidating and validating monthly actuals, maintaining client-level subscription, consulting, and data-buy expense tracking, preparing forecast updates, and performing reconciliations. \nSupport third-party insurance market research and analysis, including data analysis, market mapping, and preparation of analytical exhibits.\nAssist with recurring spreadsheet and Power BI reporting and dashboard, including report refreshes, data-quality testing, validation of results, and maintenance of supporting datasets. \nDocument and improve recurring finance processes, including planning, forecasting, expense management, reporting procedures, and related controls. \nSupport process-improvement initiatives, including helping build and test simple Power Automate workflows to reduce manual tasks and documenting the improved processes. \nQualifications:\nCompleted Junior year or higher\nGPA 3.5+\nDegree in Finance, Economics, or a related business field.\nStrong Excel and data-analysis skills, with an interest in working with financial and business data. \nComfortable using AI tools to support research, analysis, and everyday work, while taking responsibility for checking results for accuracy. \nExperience with or interest in using tools such as Power BI and Power Automate. \nStrong attention to detail, with the ability to identify inconsistencies, ask thoughtful questions, and follow through on issues requiring further review. \nDiligent and organized, with the ability to plan work, and manage multiple assignments and deadlines. \nAble to communicate clearly, prepare presentations and discuss findings with others, listen to different perspectives, receive feedback, and work effectively with others.\nCurious, proactive, self-aware, and willing to learn new tools and ways of working. \nThe ability to work full-time for 11 weeks.\nAt The Hartford Steam Boiler, a subsidiary of Munich Re, we see Diversity and Inclusion as a solution to the challenges and opportunities all around us.
