Within this unit, the Property Facultative Team comprises a team of professionals focused on managing client and market relationships, generating business opportunities, pricing and underwriting risks, and monitoring and optimising the performance of the portfolio across the region.\nYou will provide technical underwriting leadership across the facultative property portfolio, driving sustainable, profitable growth and portfolio optimization across Sub-Saharan Africa. Working closely with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders, you will actively influence underwriting strategy, mentor colleagues, and advance innovation and continuous improvement to strengthen Munich Re's market position.\nYour Role:\nPortfolio and underwriting leadership\nUnderwriting facultative property business, including assessing risk, evaluating and providing reinsurance terms and conditions in accordance with the applicable underwriting authority, guidelines, internal directives, targets and client strategies\nDeveloping and growing a sustainable profitable book of business and exploiting new business opportunities through active development of relationships with clients and brokers in South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and in major international markets\nBusiness Development & Market Management\nDevelop and execute market growth strategies, portfolio analytics and performance monitoring, quality assurance and technical consultation for your allocated markets\nTechnical Excellence & Thought Leadership\nOrganizing and conducting seminars/workshops for clients and internal staff, providing clients with value-added services\nAssisting the treaty team in evaluating special treaty acceptance requests from a technical perspective, as and when required\nStrategy & Continuous Improvement\nConducting market analysis for your allocated markets, including emerging risk trends\nMaintaining and expanding your technical knowledge\nYour profile:\nUniversity degree in Business, Statistics, Insurance, Finance or a related field\nMinimum 5 years' experience in facultative / single risk (Re)Insurance.
