Responsible for underwriting corporate property programs focusing on large and complex commercial and specialty lines, including energy clients. Develops and determines terms and conditions applicable and considers risk-sharing acceptances. Partners with leadership to oversee portfolios to ensure profitability. Responsible for account underwriting, presentation, sales and revenue growth for assigned clients primarily in the renewable and conventional energy segment. Acts as a training mentor for team members and works with Underwriting, Business Development, Operations, and Engineering. Responsible for clients with highly complex risks.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelors degree in Business Administration, Risk Management or Finance or equivalent work experience\n10+ years relevant experience, preferably on an Underwriting team\n5+ years casualty and/or property underwriting experience, preferably within the large property space\nExperience with single carrier and shared & layered business\n3+ years broker relationship energy experience\nP&C, Mechanical or Facilities Engineering experience is a plus\nCPCU, ARM, ARe or other industry designations are a plus\nKnowledge and Skills\nExcellent underwriting, marketing and analytical skills\nStrong knowledge of energy all-risk underwriting. Ability to understand machinery and equipment exposures and coverages\nStrong knowledge and understanding of structure and layer programs including quota-shares and excess placements\nWorking knowledge of CAT modeling including RMS\nKnowledge of Energy, Renewable Energy and Green Energy a plus\nStrong knowledge of various policy forms and coverages in the marketplace\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment\nAble to efficiently manage and prioritize workload\nRelationship building skills in the marketplace, including broker relationships\nEffective leadership skills\nGood communications skills (verbal and written)\nStrong interpersonal skills\nHighly skilled negotiator\nSolid training/mentoring skills\nAt The Hartford Steam Boiler, a subsidiary of Munich Re, we see Diversity and Inclusion as a solution to the challenges and opportunities all around us.
