You will work alongside experienced designers and researchers, bring a customer-led perspective to business challenges, and help build experiences with meaningful customer and business value.\nWhat You’ll Do\nHelp socialize policyholder personas through training and engaging design assets.\n\nUse the CX Design System to create materials that keep the customer present in decision making.\n\nSupport agile design sprints, journey development, test-and-learn activities, and implementation.\n\nHelp interpret research and incorporate insights into experience design.\n\nParticipate in user research, prototype testing, interviews, and requirements development.\n\nCreate journey maps, service blueprints, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and visual storytelling assets.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nCoursework or experience in design thinking and human-centered design, including one or two significant projects.\n\nPortfolio demonstrating design experience, storytelling, and presentation skills.\n\nKnowledge of user-centered design, agile collaboration, and customer insight.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Figma or Adobe Express is a plus.\n\nUX portfolio, service prototyping, canvas methods, or insurance knowledge are bonus qualifications.\n\nWhat You’ll Gain\nMentoring from customer experience experts.\n\nExperience solving real-world challenges through research and design.\n\nPortfolio-ready work across service design, journey mapping, prototyping, and facilitation.\n\nReady to turn curiosity into experience? We invite you to apply and explore where an internship with American Modern can take you.\nQualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited college or university with a focus of design \nAvailable to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program \nAble to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in our Amelia, Ohio office \nReliable transportation to commute to the office as required \nStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills \nDemonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment \nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) \nEagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects \n Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
