You will work closely with experienced engineers across various disciplines to bring innovative satellite systems to life. \nThis position is hybrid and requires working on-site in our San Jose, CA office three days per week.\nResponsibilities\nContribute to the design and development of electrical systems for spacecraft avionics, including areas such as flight computers, power distribution, guidance and navigation, sensors, actuators, and communication systems.\nSchematic capture and PCB layout\nBring-up, testing, and validation of newly designed hardware.\nCollaborate with software engineers on the integration and testing of hardware and software components.\nBuild and test early hardware prototypes to evaluate design concepts and mitigate risks.\nWork cross-functionally with mechanical, software, systems, and production teams to ensure successful integration and manufacturability of hardware.\nContribute to the creation of design documentation, test procedures, and reports.\nParticipate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.\nMentor other engineers and push the team to new heights in your respective domain\nQualifications\nPrefer, but don’t require B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n5-8 years of experience in hardware engineering, preferably with exposure to electronic systems (relevant internships and academic projects will be considered).\nFamiliarity with electronic components, circuits, and test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).\nExpert level knowledge in schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium, Cadence/Orcad).\nUnderstanding of microcontrollers and common communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet).\nExperience with embedded systems, embedded programming concepts and comfortable in a Linux development environment\nStrong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills.\nA strong desire to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nNice-to-have Skills\nFamiliarity with environmental testing considerations (e.g., vibration, thermal, EMI).\nExposure to scripting languages like Python for test automation or data analysis.\nExperience with power electronics for space applications (e.g., batteries, GaN switching converters, load switch design)\nExperience with FPGAs, SoC, or embedded linux platforms\nLeadership experience in clubs or on small teams\nPrevious startup experience or experience working in a fast paced environment\nSalary\nThe salary range for this role is $192,000 - $212,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package.
