An ideal candidate is an expert in software testing processes, an accomplished software tool developer, and experienced with Hardware-in-the-Loop and Simulations driven testing. In this role, you will be a major contributor to the best-practices and architecture of our software testing infrastructure. You will work with engineers across our department to implement testing policy and deliver testing capabilities, improving our velocity and ability to launch successful missions. This position is based at our San Jose, CA office.\nResponsibilities \nBuild and support in-house software testing infrastructure, including hardware testbed capabilities as well as simulated test scenarios.\nBreak down complex technical goals into detailed and well-explained proposals.\nIntegrate feedback from client teams to drive iterative improvements to our testing tools and procedures.\nExpand test coverage by developing novel off-nominal test scenarios.\nWork closely with the Simulations team to integrate simulation tools into automated testing campaigns.\nLead by example with reliable estimation and planning.\nEnsure team alignment with company goals and success against performance metrics.\nMentor Test and Simulation team engineers.\nQualifications \nProven ability to deliver reliable software testing infrastructure.\nB.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.\n8+ years' experience as a software engineer in a team environment.\nStrong programming experience in Python.\nExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g. Github Actions).\nFamiliarity with Linux systems administration and Docker containers.\nWillingness to operate in novel technical domains.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\nNice-to-have Skills\nKnowledge of C/C++.\nFluency in statistical analysis.\nFamiliarity with common electronics test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers).\nExperience testing embedded hardware projects, like robotics, autonomous vehicles, or aerospace.\nExperience designing infrastructure or orchestration for running and reporting on end-to-end integration tests on large multi-component systems.\nExperience with Hardware-in-the-Loop integration testing.\nFamiliarity with cloud deployment environments, like Kubernetes and virtual instances.\nExperience with Software-in-the-Loop simulation.\nSalary\nThe salary range for this role is $213,000 - $237,000 plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package.
