We encourage you to apply for the positions for which you meet the qualifications.\nJob Summary\nThe Sr IT Infrastructure Administrator is a senior technical contributor responsible for implementing, operating, supporting, and continuously improving Murphy Oil Corporation’s infrastructure platforms. The role supports a hybrid environment spanning on-premises datacenters, cloud services, and enterprise collaboration platforms.\nThe successful candidate will provide hands-on expertise across Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualization, storage, backup, networking, and enterprise infrastructure operations. The position independently delivers complex infrastructure work, participates in operational support and on-call rotations, and collaborates with infrastructure, security, network, application, and business teams. This role provides a development path toward the Staff, IT Infrastructure Platform Administrator position by building broader capability in hybrid platforms, automation, reliability, modernization, and technical leadership.\nThis role will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.\nResponsibilities\nInfrastructure Operations\nServe as a critical member of the Infrastructure Operations team supporting enterprise technology platforms.\nAdminister and maintain Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file and print services, and related enterprise technologies.\nSupport enterprise virtualization, storage, backup, datacenter, and cloud infrastructure services.\nPerform infrastructure lifecycle activities including deployment, upgrades, patching, maintenance, remediation, and platform modernization.\nMonitor system health, performance, capacity, availability, and compliance across infrastructure platforms.\nParticipate in the infrastructure on-call rotation, incident response, troubleshooting, and service restoration.\nAzure and Hybrid Cloud\nDeploy, manage, and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure services and hybrid integrations.\nAssist with workload migration, modernization, and optimization across on-premises and Azure environments.\nSupport Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, monitoring, security controls, and operational readiness.\nContribute to repeatable cloud deployment, configuration, and infrastructure automation workflows.\nIdentity, Endpoint, and Collaboration Services\nAdminister Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and related enterprise identity services.\nMaintain identity integration among Microsoft 365, Azure Entra ID, and on-premises Active Directory.\nSupport Microsoft Intune, endpoint policies, device compliance, and device lifecycle activities.\nAdminister Microsoft 365 services supporting enterprise collaboration and productivity.\nPartner with Information Security and Global Controls teams to apply security, audit, SOX, and compliance requirements across infrastructure services.\nAutomation and Continuous Improvement\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting technologies.\nParticipate in Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, Git-based version control, and configuration management initiatives.\nIdentify and implement improvements that reduce manual work and increase infrastructure stability, reliability, and efficiency.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, architecture records, runbooks, and operational procedures.\nProject Delivery and Collaboration\nParticipate in infrastructure projects from estimating and planning through implementation and operational transition.\nWork collaboratively with infrastructure, network, security, application, vendor, and business teams to deliver technology solutions.\nCommunicate technical issues, risks, recommendations, and project status clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nResearch and share relevant infrastructure practices and emerging technologies that support continuous improvement.\nQualifications/Requirements\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum 10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure administration, systems engineering, or related infrastructure operations roles, including at least 5 years of hands-on systems administration experience.\nExperience administering Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and enterprise file services.\nExperience deploying and supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, monitoring, and hybrid integrations.\nExperience administering Microsoft 365 services and supporting identity integration with Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.\nExperience operating virtualized environments, enterprise storage platforms, backup services, and datacenter infrastructure.\nExperience with infrastructure monitoring, capacity management, patching, lifecycle management, incident response, and operational support processes.\nExperience troubleshooting complex server, identity, virtualization, storage, cloud, and network-related issues.\nExperience developing automation with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.\nExperience creating technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.\nExperience delivering infrastructure implementations, migrations, upgrades, or modernization initiatives.\nAbility to collaborate across infrastructure, network, security, application, vendor, and business teams.\nAbility to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to participate in infrastructure on-call rotations.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent work experience.\nHands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, endpoint policy, compliance, and device lifecycle management.\nExperience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management, or CI/CD practices for infrastructure deployment.\nExperience using Git-based source control and Azure DevOps or similar collaboration tools.\nExperience working in Agile or DevOps-oriented delivery environments.\nExperience with VMware virtualization and enterprise storage technologies.\nExperience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms.\nFamiliarity with SOX, security controls, OS hardening, and infrastructure compliance requirements.\nRelevant Microsoft, Azure, VMware, networking, security, systems administration, or cloud certifications.\nThe individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs.
