You'll work alongside talented colleagues while establishing lifelong friendships and making a difference in our company and the specialty contracting community.\n\nPosition Summary\nThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) within our Advanced Technologies group partners closely with the Project Manager to ensure mechanical projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role is responsible for project scheduling, cost tracking, subcontractor management, project documentation and mentorship of Project Engineers. The ideal candidate will have deep project experience in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, HVAC / sheet metal, process piping, or mechanical systems.\n\nLocation: Regional office in Newbury Park, CA with anticipated travel to designated project sites in and around the greater metropolitan area.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans.\nMonitor labor, material, and equipment costs, and preparing progress and cost reports.\nCoordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of work and materials.\nSupport field supervision in resolving issues, addressing schedule conflicts, and maintaining productivity.\nPrepare, process, and track change orders, billings, and other project-related documentation.\nAssist with procurement, equipment buyout, and subcontractor agreements.\nEnsure all project documentation is accurate, organized, and maintained for project closeout.\nParticipate in project meetings and prepare agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items.\nSupport compliance with company safety standards and jobsite safety programs.\nDevelop strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.\nMentor Project Engineers and support project team development.\nPerform additional duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nMinimum 3+ years of prior experience as a project engineer, or project manager at a mechanical contractor.\nAdvanced plumbing, HVAC, process or industrial product and equipment knowledge. Experience with high-purity process piping, cleanrooms, and/or tool install a plus.\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.\nAbility to track budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.\nClear communication skills for working with teams, subcontractors, and clients.\nFamiliarity with mechanical construction codes, contracts, and project delivery methods.\nPhysical Requirements\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk.\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.\nMust have sufficient visual acuity to read printed and digital documents.\nMust be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches and/or attic spaces and/or confined spaces.\nRequires hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.\nMust be able to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.\nMust be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.\nAbility to grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.\nCompensation\n$90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year\n\nTotal Rewards\nMurray Company offers a generous total rewards package to include an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) contribution annually on top of a discretionary cash bonus program.
