This role plays a critical part in ensuring all construction activities meet established company standards, industry regulations, and client specifications. Projects may include specialized sectors such as microelectronics, pharmaceutical, and high-tech industrial construction. The Quality Control Inspector will oversee inspection activities, maintain documentation accuracy, and support field teams in executing high-quality work across piping, welding, and specialty systems.\nLocation: Rancho Dominguez, CA 90221\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare and maintain required quality documentation in accordance with company SOPs and project specifications.\nPerform inspections of piping systems, welds, and material installations to verify compliance with industry and customer standards.\nReview and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and construction plans to validate field installation accuracy.\nAssist engineering teams with field layout, measurements, and quality verification activities.\nCopy, distribute, and maintain project documentation per established procedures.\nCollect field data and compile summary reports for supervisors and project teams.\nMonitor and control materials and equipment specific to assigned scopes of work.\nVerify proper installation of duct systems, including torque values, spark testing, and installation procedures.\nConduct inspections of:\nPVDF, PP, PE fusion welds\nCarbon steel (CS) and stainless steel (SS) welds\nStainless steel orbital welds\nPVC and CPVC glue-bonded systems\nUtilize inspection tools including borescopes, profilometry equipment, ultrasonic thickness meters, dial calipers, and standard hand tools.\nAccess and navigate customer portals to retrieve specifications, drawings, and project documentation.\nSupport additional quality and construction-related assignments as directed.\nQualifications\nRequired\nCurrent Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).\nStrong understanding of quality standards related to plastic, metal, and hybrid piping systems used in high-tech and industrial construction.\nWorking knowledge of welding processes including: GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW\nGeneral knowledge of ASME B31.3 weld certification processes.\nExperience with BPE automatic orbital welding for high-purity gas systems.\nFamiliarity with George Fischer fusion systems including: GF Model IR 63, GF Model IR225, Fuseal, Contain-It systems.\nAbility to inspect welds across multiple materials and systems.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.\nComfortable using digital platforms and customer portals for project documentation.\nAbility to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy.\nPreferred\nNDT Level II Technician certification.\nCurrent or prior ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II certifications in: RT (Radiographic Testing), UT (Ultrasonic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), VT (Visual Testing).\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to sit for prolonged periods while completing documentation.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.\nAbility to climb ladders and access trenches, attics, and confined spaces.\nSufficient visual acuity to review printed and digital documents and perform detailed inspections.\nAbility to work in noisy environments and communicate effectively.\nAbility to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.\nAbility to wear required PPE at all times.\nManual dexterity to handle tools and inspect small components.\nCompensation\n$40.00 - $50.00 per hour\nTotal Rewards\nMurray Company offers a generous total rewards package to include an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) contribution annually on top of a discretionary cash bonus program.
