Fueled by the power of imagination, MOIC is a universe of possibilities with tons of room for you to explore.\nThe Flavor Profile\nThe Facilities and Maintenance Technician supports their museum site and collaborates with Production, Construction, and Events teams in partnership with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager. You will receive deliverables from the Management Team and General Management, with responsibilities that intersect with operations and respond to the maintenance ticketing system. While much of the heavier work occurs on museum reset days, the Facilities and Maintenance Technician will actively participate in daily operations, troubleshooting smaller issues with equipment and the building. Additionally, you will assist the Facilities and Maintenance Manager in executing larger projects, repairs, and maintenance during pre-opening and post-closing shifts. This role directly reports to the on-site Facilities and Maintenance Manager.\nYour day-to-day:\nComplete daily task list in the Daily Binder.\nOrder cleaning supplies as needed, and manage the distribution of products to the Clean Team.\nRepair current and outstanding items, and make predictions about facility needs for events and resets.\nStay responsive and up-to-date on all email and Slack communications.\nPerform weekly preventive maintenance tasks, including painting, patching, light plumbing/electrical work, equipment diagnostics, organization, and cleaning.\nTake weekly inventory of supplies delivered to Facilities Management.\nHandle the shipping and receiving of facility supplies.\nEnsure compliance with the Facilities uniform policy.\nParticipate in fire watch when alarms are down.\nOrganize storage and mechanical closets.\nMaintain the cleanliness of the outside area and manage trash disposal.\nTake ownership of the hourly cleaning sheet.\nWork on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.\nHave the option to accept or decline on-call work.\nEnsure checklists are complete and the museum is show-ready.\nBe willing to work late nights and early mornings as needed.\nFill out and submit daily reports.\nRequirements\nThe Necessities and Nice-to-Haves:\nTeam-oriented\nHighly accountable\nStrong critical thinking abilities\nPositive, solution-oriented attitude\nCreative problem-solving skills\nStrong work ethic\nEager to learn and handle detailed tasks\nProficient in computer and tech skills\nExtensive tool knowledge\nGeneral construction expertise\nSkilled in painting, carpentry, and finish work\nExperience in welding and fabrication\nKnowledgeable in electrical and plumbing work\nProficient in drywall and framing\nSkilled in tiling\nExperience with CAD and 3D printing\nFamiliarity with fiberglass work\nHigh-level finish work capability\nAbility to lift 40 lbs\nKnowledge of emergency procedures\nAble to stand for up to 8 hours per day\nJob Type: Part-time (Up to 30 hours per week)\nPay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour\nBenefits\nThe Good Stuff:\nAnnual pinkball (yes, it is “pink-tie” themed and you can bring a date!) \nUnlimited ice cream \nCompetitive Pay\n16 free museum tickets per year for friends and family, with free entry for self \n50% off retail products \nSchedule:\nHolidays\nWeekend availability\nEducation:\nHigh school or equivalent (Preferred)\nShift availability:\nDay Shift \nNight Shift \nWillingness to travel:\n10% (Required)\nMuseum of Ice Cream is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
