We are confident you’ll be covered in all the ways that matter most to you.\nThe Business Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing, improving, and driving connecting the business systems and technology processes that enable the organization to operate efficiently. This position serves as a primary liaison between the business units (estimating, VDC, construction, service, prefab, purchasing, accounting & marketing) and the IT/technology team.\nThis role evaluates business processes, identifies system and workflow improvements, translates operational needs into technical requirements, and supports the implementation, integration, and optimization of business applications.\nThis role requires a strong understanding of both business operations and technology, with particular emphasis on the unique needs of electrical construction and service operations.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nBusiness & Systems Analysis\nPartner with business units to understand business needs and system requirements.\nAnalyze existing workflows and business processes to identify inefficiencies, duplication, manual work, data issues, and opportunities for automation.\nTranslate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, process flows, and acceptance criteria.\nEvaluate business applications and recommend improvements that increase productivity, profitability, data accuracy, and operational visibility.\nServe as a subject-matter resource for business applications and technology-enabled processes.\nData & Reporting\nUse SQL, reporting tools, spreadsheets, and business intelligence platforms to analyze operational and financial data.\nDevelop and maintain reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators for management and operational teams.\nValidate data integrity across business applications and identify discrepancies or data-quality issues.\nWork with stakeholders to define meaningful metrics and ensure reports accurately reflect business requirements.\nSystems Integration, Upgrades & Technical Support\nAnalyze and support integrations between ERP, construction management, estimating, accounting, CRM, service management, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, and other applications.\nWork with vendors and IT resources to troubleshoot application and integration issues.\nDrive API, file-based, database, and other system integrations.\nParticipate in application upgrades, implementations, migrations, and system conversions.\nMaintain documentation of system configurations, integrations, workflows, and dependencies.\nRequirements, Testing & Implementation\nDevelop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.\nCoordinate and participate in user acceptance testing with business stakeholders.\nEnsure system changes meet business requirements before deployment.\nKey Business Systems\nThe position will support a variety of systems, including:\nERP and accounting systems\nConstruction management and project management platforms\nElectrical estimating and takeoff software\nJob-costing and project accounting systems\nField-service management and dispatch systems\nCRM and customer management systems\nTimekeeping and workforce management systems\nInventory and purchasing systems\nDocument management systems\nBusiness intelligence and reporting platforms\nMicrosoft 365 and related productivity applications\nMobile and field applications\nSystem integrations and APIs\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n7-10+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, construction technology, ERP support, or a related role.\nExperience driving the design, development and maintenance of API integrations to connect business systems and automated data exchange.\nExperience working with business applications and translating operational requirements into system solutions.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nWorking knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data analysis, or reporting tools.\nExperience with requirements gathering, process mapping, system testing, and implementation.\nStrong understanding of business processes and data flows.\nSuperior communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.\nAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in electrical contracting, commercial construction, specialty contracting, or a related construction environment.\nExperience with construction ERP or project management systems.\nUnderstanding of electrical estimating, project management, job costing, purchasing, change management, and field operations.\nExperience supporting field personnel and mobile technology.\nExperience with system integrations, APIs, or data interfaces.\nExperience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.\nExperience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases.\nFamiliarity with Agile, Lean, or other process-improvement methodologies.\nExperience implementing or upgrading ERP, estimating, construction management, or service-management systems.\nValue Add Qualifications\nExperience designing, developing and maintaining API integrations to connect business systems and automated data exchange.\nProficiency in developing and integrating APIs to enable secure, reliable data exchange and connectivity between applications and systems.\nExperience with coding, testing, and troubleshooting system-to-system integrations, including REST APIs, authentication, data mapping, and error handling.\nKey
