We are building a payment platform that allows merchants to accept payments in-store, in-app and online, whilst consolidating all their data on a real-time business management dashboard.\nThis role is a 6 month fix-term maternity leave cover. \nWe're looking for a commercially minded lawyer who wants to take the next step beyond a traditional legal role. As our Commercial Manager, you'll work closely with our Commercial Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO), getting hands-on exposure to the deals, partnerships and projects that drive our business.\nThis is a role where you'll draft and negotiate contracts and see them through: managing the relationships behind them, understanding how they affect the business, and building your commercial skills with the support and mentoring of senior leaders. It's ideal for a lawyer who enjoys contract work but wants to be closer to the business and grow into a broader commercial career.\nWhat You'll Do\nSupport Key Deals: Work with the Commercial Director and COO to draft, review and negotiate customer, channel and partnership agreements, taking increasing ownership as you build experience.\nContribute to New Initiatives: Provide legal and commercial input on new products, business initiatives and market opportunities.\nManage Partner Agreements: Look after our POS partner agreements day to day, including preparing and negotiating amendments and acting as a point of contact for partners.\nHelp Build the Commercial Function: Play a hands-on role in setting up the processes, templates, playbooks and ways of working our commercial team needs as the business grows, so we’re ready to scale.\nWork Across the Business: Be a go-to person for teams such as Product, Sales and Finance on contract questions and practical commercial issues.\nSupport Procurement: Assist with supplier and vendor contracts, helping ensure we get good value and performance from our suppliers.\nWhy This Role Is for You\nYou enjoy contract work but are curious about the \"why\" behind the deal and want to develop your commercial skills.\nYou’d enjoy helping shape a growing commercial function, not just slotting into an established one.\nYou'd like regular exposure to senior leadership, with mentoring and real responsibility from day one.\nYou want to work somewhere you can see the direct impact of your work on the business.\nYou're looking for a genuine pathway from a legal role into a commercial career.\nAbout You\nA qualified lawyer with around 3-6 years' PQE, gained in private practice or an in-house team.\nSolid experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.\nProactive, curious and keen to broaden your skills beyond legal advice.\nA clear communicator who builds good working relationships with people across a business.\nPractical in your approach, and able to weigh legal risk against what the business is trying to achieve.\nWhat we offer\nYou will be joining an incredible team who are committed to our vision and company values.
