We’re looking for someone who thinks and operates like a founder of the technology function - proactive, self-driven, technically strong, and accountable for outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the end-to-end development and delivery of complex software projects, from architecture and coding through deployment and production.\nLead and mentor a distributed team of backend, frontend, and QA engineers across different time zones.\nStay hands-on with architecture, coding, debugging, and code reviews.\nWork closely with Product and Design to turn requirements into scalable, well-documented technical solutions.\nOwn the reliability, security, performance, and operational health of production systems.\nHave strong DevOps ownership, including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containers, observability, deployment, and incident response.\nUse AI effectively in day-to-day engineering to improve productivity, code quality, testing, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving.\nProactively identify and solve technical and product problems without waiting for them to be assigned.\nBuild a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, autonomy, and continuous improvement.\nDevelop engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, and clear career growth.\nWe're Looking For\n7-8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in an Engineering Manager or technical leadership role.\nFintech, banking, or payments experience is strongly preferred, but not mandatory.\nStrong hands-on experience with Go and/or Java, with a willingness to work increasingly with Java.\nStrong understanding of SQL databases, AWS, microservices, and distributed systems.\nStrong command of DevOps and production engineering practices.\nExperience with modern software development and code review practices using tools such as GitHub/GitLab.\nStrong understanding of security, reliability, testing, and operational best practices.\nComfortable using AI tools as part of everyday engineering work and able to identify where AI can create a meaningful advantage.\nHighly self-driven and comfortable with ambiguity - you create clarity rather than wait for it.\nStrong ownership mindset: you think beyond your assigned scope and take responsibility for the technology as a whole.\nExcellent communication skills, particularly when working with distributed teams.\nThe Mindset We're Looking For\nDon’t just manage the work.
