The role involves working closely with experienced database engineers to monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and support routine database operations.\nThis is an entry-level opportunity suitable for freshers who have a good understanding of PostgreSQL, SQL, Linux, and basic database concepts.\nResponsibilities\nAssist in managing and maintaining customer PostgreSQL database environments.\nMonitor database performance using internal tools and monitoring metrics.\nAssist in identifying and troubleshooting basic database issues.\nSupport database backup and recovery activities under the guidance of senior engineers.\nAssist with routine database maintenance and operational activities.\nSupport database upgrade and maintenance activities.\nAssist in monitoring database availability and health.\nFollow standard procedures for handling and escalating database-related issues.\nDocument technical issues and troubleshooting activities.\nWork closely with team members to resolve database-related issues.\nContinuously develop knowledge of PostgreSQL, Linux, SQL, and database administration.\nRequirements\nBasic knowledge of PostgreSQL database concepts.\nGood understanding of SQL fundamentals.\nBasic knowledge of Linux OS and commonly used Linux commands.\nUnderstanding of basic database concepts such as tables, indexes, joins, constraints, and transactions.\nBasic understanding of database backup and recovery concepts.\nBasic awareness of database replication and high-availability concepts.\nBasic knowledge of any programming or scripting language such as Python or Bash is an advantage.\nBasic understanding of Cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is an advantage.\nGood analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment.\nWillingness to learn new technologies and database administration practices.\nWillingness to work in rotational shifts and rotational week-offs.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nB.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E. or any equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\nAcademic projects or internships related to PostgreSQL, SQL, Linux, Python, or databases will be an advantage.\nBasic understanding of PostgreSQL administration concepts.\nBasic knowledge of database monitoring and management
