All mylo products are fully Sharia-compliant, ensuring ethical and inclusive financial practices.\nResponsibilities\nLead, grow, and coach a team of full stack engineers, staying hands-on with architecture, code, and technical decisions rather than managing from a distance.\nWork closely with the Engineering team and Product Managers to define relevant features and requirements, and translate these into actionable technical roadmaps for the product development and delivery team.\nOwn the technical health of the team's systems architecture quality, scalability, performance, and reliability of our Node.js and React applications.\nPrioritize features and ensure the team's effort stays aligned with mylo's overall technological strategy.\nPartner closely with other Tech Leaders (CTO, CPO) to shape the broader engineering direction.\nDrive the team's engineering practices in test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated deployment.\nActively coach the team to solve complex problems, unblock them, and raise the technical bar through code reviews, pairing, and mentorship.\nMake informed build-vs-buy calls on tooling and third-party services, balancing speed, cost, and long-term maintainability.\nChampion clean, well-documented, secure APIs that other teams and services can depend on.\nContribute to a safe, collaborative, growth-focused, purposeful, values-driven, and diverse team culture across the organization.\nRequirements\n8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React.\nAt least 3+ years in a people leadership or technical lead role, managing or mentoring engineers.\nProven track record of shipping and scaling full stack web applications end-to-end from API design and data modeling to frontend architecture and delivery.\nDeep knowledge of microservices systems and DDD, with the judgment to apply them pragmatically.\nStrong experience designing and operating RESTful APIs and service-oriented/microservice architectures.\nSolid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, or similar).\nExperience embedding test-driven development, CI/CD, and automated deployment practices into a team's day-to-day workflow.\nComfortable evaluating technology choices and making build-vs-buy calls with a clear view of trade-offs.\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a strong plus.\nExperience in fintech, e-commerce, or BNPL/lending platforms is a big plus.\nDegree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field -
