This role partners closely with Platform, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Product, and Test teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and highly available technology solutions. The position provides technical leadership, drives DevOps maturity, and champions automation, innovation, and engineering best practices across the organisation.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nCloud & Platform Engineering\nDesign, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platforms across AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nDevelop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.\nEstablish cloud networking, security, identity management, governance, and platform standards.\nBuild reusable infrastructure modules to support consistency and operational efficiency.\nDesign, administer, and optimise container platforms, including Kubernetes environments.\nDevOps & AutomationDesign, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks.\nAutomate software build, testing, deployment, and release processes.\nDrive adoption of DevOps principles, developer enablement, and self-service platform capabilities.\nEstablish engineering standards, controls, quality gates, and automation-first practices.\nReliability, Security & OperationsImplement and enhance monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities.\nSupport Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, resilience testing, and service reliability improvements.\nLead production incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiatives.\nManage vulnerability remediation, patching, secrets management, and compliance requirements.\nCollaborate with Cyber Security teams to ensure secure-by-design solutions and adherence to governance standards.\nTechnical LeadershipProvide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and peer reviews across engineering teams.\nContribute to architecture decisions, technology roadmaps, and platform strategy.\nLead the resolution of complex technical challenges and operational issues.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives and promote engineering excellence across the organisation.\nWhat you bring\nYou don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.\nExperience & Skills\nMinimum 7 years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related disciplines.\nProven experience operating and supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.\nDemonstrated success implementing DevOps, automation, and platform engineering practices.\nExperience leading cloud migration, platform transformation, or modernization initiatives.\nExperience supporting business-critical production systems in high-availability environments.\nExperience working within Agile delivery frameworks.\nRelevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, or Terraform are highly desirable.\nLeadership & Communication\nStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.\nAbility to influence technical direction and engineering standards.\nProven mentoring and coaching capability.\nExcellent verbal, written, documentation, and presentation skills.\nAbility to lead technical initiatives across multiple teams and functions.\nTakes ownership and accountability for outcomes and commitments.\nDemonstrates a strong focus on operational excellence and service reliability.\nContinuously seeks opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and customer outcomes.\nEmbraces innovation, AI capabilities, and automation-first thinking.\nPromotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and team success.\nPrioritises reliability, performance, security, and user experience.\nRemains calm and effective when managing incidents and competing priorities.\nAdapts quickly to changing business and technology requirements.\nActs with professionalism, transparency, and integrity.\nUpholds security, compliance, and governance standards in all activities.\nOur process\nWe aim to keep the process simple and respectful of your time:\nYou’ll receive an acknowledgement after applying.\nOur Talent team will review your application and keep you updated.\nIf shortlisted, we’ll connect to learn more about you.\nInterviews may be virtual or in person.\nYou’ll receive an outcome and feedback.\nIf you need any adjustments, please let us know - we’re here to support you.\nOur commitment\nWe’re committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported to do their best work.
