The role plays a key part in reducing cyber risk through security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management and continuous improvement of security controls.\nWorking within the Cyber Security and Governance team, the Senior Security Operations Engineer collaborates with technology teams, business stakeholders and vendors to protect systems and data within a highly regulated financial services environment.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nAct as the senior technical escalation point across cloud, infrastructure, endpoint, identity and security platforms.\nLead security monitoring, incident response and vulnerability management, including prioritisation and remediation.\nMaintain and continuously improve security controls and SecOps processes across cloud and on-premises environments.\nProvide technical leadership during security incidents, from investigation and containment through recovery and lessons learned.\nPartner with technology teams, stakeholders and vendors to provide security guidance and reduce cyber risk.\nSupport security audits, compliance activities and remediation of findings.\nMaintain technical documentation and drive adoption of security best practices and emerging technologies.\nParticipate in the on-call roster for critical security incidents.\nWhat you bring\nYou don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.\nExperience & Skills\n5+ years’ experience in Security Operations, Security Engineering or Infrastructure Security.\nHands-on experience in incident response, vulnerability management and security monitoring.\nStrong knowledge of Azure, AWS and/or GCP, plus Microsoft 365.\nExperience with security technologies including SIEM, EDR, SASE/SWG, firewalls, IDS/IPS and identity security.\nStrong stakeholder, vendor and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nExcellent troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills.\nUnderstanding of security frameworks such as Essential Eight, NIST, ISO 27001 and OWASP Top 10.\nExperience with Zero Trust, scripting/automation, AI security or threat modelling is desirable.\nRelevant certifications such as Security+, AZ-500, CCSP or CISSP are highly regarded.\nAbility to participate in an on-call roster for critical security incidents.\nOur process\nWe aim to keep the process simple and respectful of your time:\nYou’ll receive an acknowledgement after applying.\nOur Talent team will review your application and keep you updated.\nIf shortlisted, we’ll connect to learn more about you.\nInterviews may be virtual or in person.\nYou’ll receive an outcome and feedback.\nIf you need any adjustments, please let us know - we’re here to support you.\nOur commitment\nWe’re committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported to do their best work.
