We are BUILT FOR THE WILD™.\nAbout the Role\nThe Senior Data Engineer will be part of a team that designs, builds, and operates YETI’s enterprise data platform with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery and Airflow experience preferred. This role is critical to enabling modern analytics, advanced reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. This position offers an extremely rare and unique opportunity to join a highly profitable, fast-growing business.\nThis role requires a blend of skills typically found in the specialized roles of Data Modeler, Data Architecture, Data Analyst, and Administration of Data tools. Additionally, having experience in agile development, and how to balance the need to maintain operations versus the need to build things the right way is an absolute must.\nWhat You'll Do\nWork with business customers and data analysts to define detailed requirements from broader business challenges\n\nTranslate those requirements to logical and physical models that satisfy analytical needs\n\nDesign and build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Airflow, Stored Procedures in BigQuery, Dataflow, and Databricks\n\nLead development of analytical data models\n\nIntegrate SAP data sources including SAP HANA and S/4HANA\n\nOptimize data performance of Google Vertex AI engineering and ML pipelines\n\nPartner with business and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical solutions\n\nEnforce data quality, reliability, and governance best practices\n\nPerform data profiling and analysis to assess data quality patterns, recommend data cleansing rules, conforming data standard rules and matching algorithms\n\nBuild Data pipelines for SAP and non-SAP data sources to load into BigQuery\n\nOwn the data infrastructure of our existing Google BigQuery Data warehouse and other related GCP services\n\nAssist ETL and BI developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement\n\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline\n\nAt least 8 years of experience in data engineering primarily in Google BigQuery.\n\nExpert in writing, analyzing and tuning complex SQL queries\n\nExtensive experience with Python programming\n\nHands-on experience in GCP BigQuery, Airflow and Dataflow\n\nMust have a good understanding of Dimensional Modeling and ER-Modeling\n\nCandidates should demonstrate openness to adopting unfamiliar tools and acquiring proficiency in new programming languages.\n\nStrong problem-solving ability and a positive attitude\n\nExperience in extracting data from SAP HANA and Salesforce tools\n\nExperience/Knowledge of SAP Datasphere is a huge plus.\n\nExperience with Java and NodeJS\n\nTerraform, Docker, and CI/CD experience preferred\n\nCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
