What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.\nAbout the role:\nThe orchestration team builds the backend software that manages all of the work that needs to happen in a Mytra system: what every bot should work on, when, how and in what sequence; in addition to tracking the current state of the system and all of the work requests. We are constantly solving dynamically changing multi-agent path finding problems against a live fleet.\nWhat you’ll do:\nBuild backend software that coordinates a live fleet of bots, including planning collision-free and time-feasible routes across a shared operating space.\nDevelop systems for assigning tasks to bots based on fleet state, task dependencies, timing constraints, and operational priorities.\nImplement planning logic for storage and retrieval workflows, including where payloads should be stored and what moves are required to access blocked or buried payloads.\nSupport continuous replanning as work is added, canceled, reprioritized, or disrupted, while helping keep the fleet operating efficiently.\nMaintain accurate system state across Mytra’s digital model and the physical warehouse environment.\nBuild recovery workflows for situations where the physical system and software state diverge, including blocked areas, maintenance zones, network drops, spills, or other unexpected events.\nImprove observability into planning cycles, task execution, and system behavior so engineers can debug issues and improve performance over time.\nDesign and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models that support orchestration, planning, task execution, and fleet operations.\nIntegrate customer warehouse workflows and WMS data into Mytra’s system to support efficient deployment and operation of the platform.\nCollaborate with software, robotics, product, and customer-facing teams to deliver reliable orchestration capabilities in production.\nIdeal Candidates\n5+ years of production software engineering experience.\nExperience building and shipping production software that solves search, routing, scheduling, planning, or optimization problems.\nFamiliarity with algorithmic problem spaces such as multi-agent path finding, vehicle routing, constraint solving, graph search, or similar.\nExperience designing and maintaining production data models or schemas, including making changes safely as systems evolve.\nHands-on experience with relational databases, especially SQL or Postgres.\nExperience designing, building, and supporting APIs used by other services, systems, or teams.\nAbility to make practical system design decisions and understand the tradeoffs involved.\nStrong ability to work through ambiguity, identify the right questions to ask, and move problems forward independently.\nProduct and technical judgment, with the ability to contribute ideas about what should be built while executing on current team priorities.\nNice to have:\nExperience with warehouse automation or AMR fleet management.\nProficiency in Go.\nExperience operating Postgres at scale.\nExperience with NATS or other message-based/pub-sub systems.\nExperience supporting systems where software issues can affect physical-world operations.\nA Final Note:\nIf this role excites you, we encourage you to apply - even if you don’t check every box.
