Our client is a leading Canadian online brokerage and wealth management fintech. It provides retail investors with trading platforms, mobile apps, and investment products in a regulated financial environment.\nThe Senior Node.js Engineer will join one of the product pods in the Experience Platform engineering group. The role leans toward the back end: you will lead the design and delivery of Node.js/TypeScript services and APIs, and you will also build and ship features on the front end in React and React Native. Each pod owns its domain end to end, so engineers are expected to work across web, mobile, and services.\nResponsibilities:\nLead technical design and delivery of complex features and services, documenting architectural trade-offs.\nDesign and build Node.js/TypeScript services and RESTful APIs within a microservices or service-oriented architecture.\nBuild and maintain front-end features in ReactJS (web) and React Native (mobile) together with the pod.\nBreak down large, ambiguous problems into deliverable increments and sequence them with product partners.\nSet and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, observability, and operational readiness.\nOwn performance and scalability of your area: profile, find bottlenecks, and optimize under production load, including real-time data streaming.\nMentor intermediate and junior developers through code reviews and pairing.\nPartner with Product, UX, Enterprise Architecture and Security on scalable, resilient and compliant designs.\nTake part in incident response and on-call rotations, and drive blameless post-incident reviews to closure.\nExplore and adopt AI tools that improve developer productivity.\nRequirements:\n6+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating production software.\n5+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including designing APIs, data models, and distributed systems under production load.\n1+ years of commercial experience with React and/or React Native (Expo or Bare), with readiness to work across web and mobile.\nProven experience with RESTful APIs and microservices or service-oriented architectures.\nPractical experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including query performance tuning.\nCloud-native experience (GCP preferred;
