The engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of stream-\nprocessing applications; from design and development through deployment and production\noperations with a focus on delivering 99% system uptime, comprehensive observability, and\nfault-tolerant architecture.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and optimize Apache Flink stream-processing applications for real-\ntime BMS data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment.\nBuild and maintain Amazon Kinesis Data Streams infrastructure including shard\nmanagement, auto-scaling policies, and dead-letter queues.\nImplement comprehensive observability: CloudWatch/Grafana dashboards,\ndistributed tracing, structured logging, and tiered alerting (P1/P2/P3) across the full\npipeline.\nTroubleshoot and resolve production issues across the ingestion-to-serving stack\n(Kinesis, Flink, DynamoDB, S3, Athena)\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK/CloudFormation) for all pipeline\ncomponents, ensuring repeatable and auditable deployments.\nImplement data quality monitoring including record count validation, schema drift\ndetection, and null-rate anomaly detection across all sites.\nJob Qualifications\nThe ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals and a passion for\nbuilding reliable, high-throughput distributed systems. They must be detail-oriented,\ncomfortable operating in an on-call environment, and able to communicate effectively with\nboth technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nRequired:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or\nequivalent technical field.\nStrong proficiency in Java (primary) with production-level experience building and\ndeploying applications.\nHands-on experience with Apache Flink or equivalent stream-processing framework\n(Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams).\nExperience with Amazon Kinesis Data Streams or similar distributed\nmessaging/streaming platform.\nDemonstrated experience building and operating systems with 99%+ uptime SLAs.\nSolid understanding of distributed systems concepts: fault tolerance, exactly-once\nsemantics, checkpointing, backpressure management.\nExperience with AWS services: DynamoDB, S3, Athena, CloudWatch, IAM.\nProficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).\nPreferred:\nExperience with MQTT, Haystack protocol, or Niagara N4 (building automation / IoT).\nFamiliarity with Apache Avro, AWS Glue Schema Registry, or similar schema\nmanagement tools.\nExperience with Grafana, CloudWatch Logs Insights, or distributed tracing\nframeworks.\nKnowledge of chaos engineering practices and tools.\nPrior experience with BMS (Building Management System) or IoT data pipelines.\nPython proficiency for scripting, data analysis, and tooling.\nWe offer*:\nFlexible working format -
