This part-time role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and learning in a hands-on office environment. The IT Technician will assist with computer setup and deployment, day-to-day technical support, meeting room technology, new hire onboarding, employee separation support, and accurate tracking of assigned equipment and support activities. This position will be the onsite contact for the organizations technical support, answering incoming phone calls, emails and maintaining system backup, with understanding, compassion and a sense of urgency. The role reports to and works collaboratively with the Sr. Director of Informatics to ensure the organization's technology systems remain secure, reliable, and effective. The IT Technician must build positive internal and external relationships.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCustomer Service & Technical Support:\nAssist with onsite computer configurations, deployments, and technical support for staff across the foundation.\nProvide responsive day-to-day support for computers, peripherals, software, printers, and basic network connectivity issues.\nDocument support requests, troubleshooting steps, equipment assignments, and completed work clearly and accurately.\nEscalate complex technical issues to the appropriate internal or external IT support resources.\nRepresent the IT function with professionalism, patience, and a helpful approach when supporting staff and visitors.\nComputer Deployment & End User Technology:\nSet up, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, monitors, docking stations, phones, printers, and related office\ntechnology.\nEnsure equipment is properly inventoried, tagged, and documented.\nManage the issuing, tracking, and return of flash drives and related removable media.\nMaintain clean and organized technology storage and inventory areas.\nNew Hire & Offboarding Support:\nProvide computer technical support and basic technology training during new hire orientation.\nPrepare computers, accounts, applications, and access permissions.\nConduct new hire technology orientation and training.\nAssist with employee equipment return, coordinating access changes, and preparing devices for reassignment.\nMaintain onboarding and offboarding checklists and documentation.\nPartner with Human Resources and department managers to ensure timely provisioning and deprovisioning of technology\nresources.\n Meeting Room & Collaboration Technology Support:\nProvide cross-foundational support for conference rooms, meeting technology, and audiovisual equipment.\nAssist with meeting setup, testing, troubleshooting, and facilitation.\nTrain staff on meeting room technology and collaboration tools.\nEnsure meeting rooms remain operational and technology-ready.\nn-Lorem offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 403(b), 4 weeks paid vacation, paid sick time, life insurance, employee assistance program. n-Lorem is a small foundation with an extraordinary mission, to provide hope and potentially help to nano-rare patients today.
