Come and build with us.\nYour main goal will be to help build a lean, AI-native accounting function at n8n, owning core accounting operations while using automation and AI to make our processes smarter, faster, and more scalable.\nYou’ll report to our Head of Accounting & Tax, working alongside an experienced team where you’ll have real ownership from day one and the opportunity to expand into new areas as we grow.\nHere's how you'll make an impact:\nOwn Procure-to-Pay & Expense Operations\nManage the end-to-end P2P process in Ramp, from invoice intake and coding to approval follow-ups and biweekly AP payments, ensuring strong controls.\n\nImprove AI-assisted coding, automation rules, and exception handling to reduce manual work and keep transactions accurate.\n\nSupport colleagues with expenses, reimbursements, and corporate card questions, resolving issues efficiently.\n\nDeliver Accurate Accounting & Month-End Close\nOwn assigned OPEX, card spend, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.\n\nPartner with FP&A to ensure accurate GL and cost-center coding, timely financial information, and a reliable month-end close.\n\nMaintain clear accounting records, support audit requests, and document processes to ensure continuity and effective controls.\n\nBuild an AI-Native Accounting Function\nUse n8n, AI tools, and modern accounting platforms to identify opportunities for automation and continuously improve workflows.\n\nValidate AI-generated outputs, prioritize human review where risks are highest, and maintain reliable evidence for stakeholders, regulators, and auditors.\n\nHelp scale accounting processes across our growing multi-entity business, with opportunities to broaden your expertise into AR and revenue accounting over time.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\nMust-haves\nHands-on accounting experience: You have practical GL and AP/P2P experience, with solid fundamentals in journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and reconciliations.\n\nAccounting standards & VAT: You have working knowledge of HGB or IFRS, understand invoice requirements and VAT fundamentals, and know when to seek expert guidance.\n\nAI & automation mindset: You're excited to experiment with AI, build better workflows, and learn how to validate automated outputs rather than simply execute transactions.\n\nSystems & spreadsheet skills: You're confident using spreadsheets and accounting systems, with strong attention to coding accuracy, data quality, and financial controls.\n\nOwnership & reliability: You take responsibility for daily operations, follow through on commitments, and proactively identify ways to improve how things work.\n\nClear communication: You communicate effectively in English, collaborate well across teams, and enjoy helping colleagues solve operational challenges.\n\nNice-to-haves\nModern finance tools: You've worked with AI-native ERPs, Ramp or similar P2P platforms, Q2C tools, or workflow automation platforms like n8n.\n\nInternational accounting: You have experience working across multiple entities, ideally in a global business with an expanding international footprint.\n\nSaaS & revenue accounting: You're familiar with SaaS business models, multi-currency accounting, AR, or revenue recognition.\n\nAudit & qualifications: You bring an audit background or relevant accounting qualifications that strengthen your accounting expertise.\n\nGerman language skills: You can communicate in German, although this is not required for the role.\n\nWhy join us?\nAt n8n, you won't just process transactions - you'll help rethink how accounting works at an automation company.
