Our passionate leaders recruit and develop high performing people, empowering them to deliver exceptional outcomes to make a positive difference in the lives of our customers and our communities.\nPurpose\nProvide guidance to the Quality Engineering (“QE”) team\nLead the effort of ensuring that all products owned by the delivery squad meets the business requirements\nEnsures Product/ Software quality\nCapabilities, Experience & Qualification Requirements\nEssential Experience & capabilities / skills\n5-8 years of experience in SDET, Java automation and strong Software Automation Testing mindset.\nStrong hands-on experience designing and building Java automation frameworks.\nStrong coding in JAVA. Experience with any node-based test automation like playwright or Selenium with Java.\nDeep hands-on expertise in Java automation.\nExposure to API based framework using REST assured.\nExperience automating backend and legacy systems, including service interfaces and batch processes.\nStrong SQL skills for backend and data validation.\nExperience working within Agile and DevOps delivery models.\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms is advantageous.\nKey Accountabilities\nCore responsibilities\nAn Engineer is confined to a particular delivery squad and follows the scrum model and delivery governance as part of the squad\nDrive an automation-led approach to quality across backend and legacy systems.\nDesign, develop, and maintain Java automation frameworks for backend interfaces, service endpoints, and batch processing.\nImplement Java-based backend automation without reliance on UI layers.\nDevelop automated test suites covering unit, integration, system, and regression testing.\nPerform automated backend and data validation, including reconciliation, integrity, schema, and business rule checks.\nIntegrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines and enforce functional quality gates.\nParticipate in code reviews focusing on testability, automation coverage, and quality risks.\nSupport release activities, defect triage, and root-cause analysis.\nEnsure adherence to SDLC, engineering, security, and compliance standards.\nPromote shared ownership of automation and quality across engineering teams.\nResponsible for unblocking any quality related issues which is blocking the Quality Engineers delivery by escalating at the right forum (People or groups)\nResponsible for ensuring the quality standards and process are followed by the respective Engineers across delivery squads\nParticipate in software development process including fixing small and simple production code, review code written by other developers, if required.\nResponsible and accountable for all deliveries across delivery squads of high quality\nResponsible for the quality assessments of the deliverables/ user stories in the delivery squad\nHave a SDET(Software development Engineer test) mindset of conducting RCA for any defects\nAccountable for the automation of all the user stories across delivery squad i.e. ensures that Engineers are not blocked by any issue and are working on the prioritized automation user stories first\nResponsible & accountable for the creation/ updation and review of Test Plans, (TSR) Test Summary Report, RTM and Complex Test Docs by understanding the business and testing requirements of the AUT\nParticipate in testing effort estimates and actuals to deliver stories / features\nWork across the squad to identify opportunities to deliver Quality Engineering\nKPIs\nActive participation in Review and Governance\nImprove Automation test Suite Coverage\nActive participation in code reviews, performance optimization, and debugging\nNumber of defects leaked into production\nDemonstrated uplift in automation maturity across supported platforms.\nImprovement in defect trends linked to backend automation.\nStakeholder confidence in automation frameworks and practices.\nPositive feedback from engineering and delivery leadership.\nA diverse and inclusive workplace works better for everyone:\nOur goal is to foster a culture that fills us with pride, rooted in trust and respect.
