Let's shape the future of maritime technology together.\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced and technically minded Senior Project Engineer (m/f/d) to join our engineering team supporting navy navigation projects for naval and governmental ships.\nIn this role, you will take ownership of the design and documentation of marine navigation systems, working closely with customers, suppliers, shipyards, and colleagues across the business. The position suits an engineer with a strong electrical, electrotechnical, and computer systems background who wants to deepen their expertise in maritime navigation and control systems.\nYou will be involved across the complete engineering process, from system layouts and electrical documentation through to testing, commissioning support, and customer interaction. Prior maritime experience is an advantage, but solid engineering fundamentals and a structured, proactive approach matter just as much.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop project-specific navigation documentation based on established standard documentation packages\nDesign system layouts and architecture diagrams for marine navigation systems and electrical installations\nDevelop electrical drawings for cabinets, consoles, and automation systems using EPLAN\nDefine cabinet layouts, hardware configurations, and electrical interfaces\nPrepare cable lists and support cable routing and connection definitions for automation systems\nProduce technical documentation and drawings for NACOS Marine products\nSupport Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)\nCollaborate with customers, suppliers, shipyards, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution\nParticipate in vessel surveys, system start-ups, commissioning activities, and on-site support when required\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge with colleagues\nKey Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Naval Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\nProven experience in electrical or automation engineering within an industrial, marine, or naval environment\nStrong electrical and electrotechnical knowledge and understanding of industrial or naval systems\nAbility to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation\nHands-on experience with EPLAN, AutoCAD, or similar electrical design software\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to engineering tasks\nGood communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and suppliers\nAbility to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team\nFluent in English and Norwegian, both written and spoken\nWillingness to travel to shipyards and vessels as required\nEligibility for security clearance in accordance with Norwegian regulations (background check required)\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with marine navigation systems\nFamiliarity with navigation sensors and computer networks\nKnowledge of maritime regulations, classification society requirements, or shipbuilding processes\nExperience supporting FAT activities and commissioning\nWhy choose us and why we'd choose you?\nAt NACOS Marine, you'll become part of a global organization delivering innovative maritime technology solutions to customers around the world.
