In this role, you will contribute to the programming, commissioning, and support of Integrated Alarm & Control Systems (IAS/IAMCS) and SCADA solutions for vessels, primarily cruise ships and large commercial vessels. Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will collaborate with shipowners, shipyards, and our internal engineering teams on newbuilds, refits, upgrades, and warranty activities. The role offers a balance of hands-on technical work and customer contact, and includes international travel and onboard assignments.\nKey Responsibilities\nCarry out commissioning, service, refits, and upgrades of marine automation and SCADA systems\nTake part in FAT, HAT, and Sea Trials, including onboard commissioning activities\nIdentify and resolve software and hardware issues during service assignments\nDevelop and adapt PLC/SCADA software, both in-house and onboard vessels\nSupport warranty cases for newbuild and retrofit projects, remotely and onsite\nPrepare and keep technical documentation up to date, such as functional descriptions, drawings, and interface documentation\nAssist with class compliance activities and system handover to shipowners, shipyards, and classification societies\nMaintain clear and professional communication with customers and colleagues throughout project execution\n Key Requirements\nA Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field\nPractical, professional experience with industrial automation, SCADA systems, and PLC programming (IEC 61131-3: ST, LD, FBD, etc.), ideally gained through commissioning or service projects\nA structured approach to troubleshooting across automation software, electronics, and industrial networks\nFamiliarity with common marine and industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, NMEA, OPC, Profibus)\nOpenness to working onboard vessels and traveling internationally for service and commissioning activities\nFluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken\nThe ability to obtain NATO and national security clearance in accordance with authority regulations\nA valid driver's license\nAdditional Knowledge (Advantageous)\nExposure to Power Management Systems (PMS), propulsion control, or alarm & monitoring systems\nSome familiarity with classification society requirements and approval documentation\nAn interest in, or basic knowledge of, object-oriented programming (e.g. C++ / C#) for tools, utilities, or integrations\nWhy choose us and why we’d choose you\nAt NACOS Marine, we empower our people to take ownership and responsibility for their work.
