SARS Approved Safety Engineering and Risk Management\nDevelop, implement, and update project safety policies, risk assessments, and safety management systems to ensure SARS (South African Revenue Service) approval requirements are strictly met across all activities and locations.\nLead health and safety inspections, hazard identifications, and site audits, guaranteeing compliance with all legal, occupational, and client-specific safety regulations.\nCoordinate with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to evaluate and mitigate workplace safety risks, regularly communicating safety protocols to teams.\nConduct thorough accident/incident investigations and root cause analyses, documenting findings and ensuring the prompt implementation of corrective/preventative actions.\nDeliver SARS-compliant health and safety training, tool-box talks, and induction sessions to personnel at all levels, promoting a proactive safety culture.\nPrepare and submit all necessary SARS safety compliance documentation, records, permits, and certifications in a timely and accurate manner.\nLiaise with SARS auditors, regulatory authorities, and clients during safety reviews, promptly resolving queries and non-conformities.\nOversee hazardous materials management, ensuring their safe use, storage, transportation, and disposal according to policy and SARS guidelines.\nContinuously monitor site activities, identifying emerging hazards or unsafe practices, and intervening appropriately to prevent incidents.\nStay updated on the latest regulatory developments, SARS safety requirements, and relevant legislation to ensure continuous compliance and standard setting.\nRequired Skills - SARS Safety Compliance, Hazard Prevention, and Risk Assessment\nThorough knowledge of SARS safety approval processes, occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, and incident investigation methods.\nProven ability to implement, maintain, and enhance health and safety management systems on complex project sites.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence conveying safety requirements to a wide range of stakeholders and facilitating effective training sessions.\nCritical attention to detail in hazard identification and risk evaluation, with a commitment to fostering a safety-first culture across the workforce.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, documentation, and stakeholder interactions in a high-paced environment.\nProactive and solution-focused approach to problem solving, capable of swiftly identifying and addressing safety issues.\nQualifications & Experience - SARS Approved Health and Safety Professional\nBachelor’s degree or diploma in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.\nMinimum of3 years’ experience in an occupational health and safety engineering or site safety position, with proven SARS approval/registration.\nDemonstrable experience with SARS safety documentation, audits, and compliance within construction, engineering, or industrial settings.\nKnowledge of regional and international safety regulations, OHSAS/ISO standards, and best practices in safety management.\nProficient in the use of MS Office and digital safety management platforms or compliance software.\nPersonal Attributes -
