This position develops, tests, and maintains scalable applications supporting business needs. Translates requirements into technical solutions, resolves application issues, and delivers quality code and documentation. This is a full-time remote position. Residency within a 100-mile radius of the Kansas City office is required.\n\nResponsibilities Include: \n\nEvaluate business and technical requirements, recommend application designs, and estimate development effort.\nDevelop, unit-test, and optimize scalable applications, delivering quality code within established timelines.\nTroubleshoot data and software issues, maintain technical documentation, and follow NAIC/NIPR version-control standards.\nCollaborate across the organization, provide status reports, participate in team meetings, and present project updates and technical topics.\nProvide excellent customer service, follow through on customer needs, and identify opportunities to improve satisfaction.\nMentor less experienced staff, strengthen teamwork, and improve project delivery while supporting organizational goals and methodologies.\nResearch emerging technologies, present recommendations, and support assigned division-wide technical initiatives.\n\nManagement Responsibilities:\n\nThis position does not have direct reports.\n\nMinimum Education and/or Experience Required:\n\nBachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Computer Science or related field and twelve years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. \nMust have experience with the entire development life cycle: analysis, design, construction, and implementation.\n\nPreferred Experience:\n\nExperience with Kubernetes, observability tooling\nBackground in developer experience, platform engineering\nFamiliarity with security and compliance practices integrated into developer workflows\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools and evaluating their impact on productivity\n\nSystems & Technology Requirements:\n\nMicrosoft 365, Jira, Slack, WebEx, SQL, no SQL(Mongo), Java, JavaScript, Angular, SOA and Web Services and AI and cloud tools.\n\nTravel:\n\nThis position does not require overnight business travel.
