Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communications with employees.\nPlan and manage the daily allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials, and systems) to safely, efficiently, and cost effectively achieve performance targets across manufacturing and distribution.\nAssist with specifications for required material handling equipment, racking, and dock equipment.\nEnsure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in assigned areas.\nReview daily achievement of targets and report variances during on-the-floor and review meetings.\nCoach employees in their development of knowledge and skills, providing timely feedback, guidance, and training to help them reach goals. Provide feedback to employees on their performance regularly.\nEnsure the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nFacilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members, and management.\nAct as the backup for the Inventory Control/Quality Control position when needed.\nUnderstand internal and external regulations, procedures & policies and apply them fairly and consistently.\nProvide feedback and ideas related to capital projects for cost savings or safety needs.\nManage relationships and maintain professional rapport with internal and external customers, suppliers, and support services to ensure achievement of department and company goals.\nOptimize machine performance by meeting and exceeding budgeted production while keeping costs at or below budget. Work with crews to generate cost savings and encourage productivity improvement ideas. Report and help to implement ideas with the greatest benefit/cost ratio.Minimize machine downtime due to product changeovers.\nManage labor, material, and supply expenses within budgetary constraints.\n\nDistribute and monitor orders to deliver cost effective On-Time-In-Full shipments in accordance with our KPI's.\n Safety:Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times.\nResponsible for having safe work instructions available for all positions.\nProcesses are run in accordance with SOP's.\nAll employees have the required level of safety training, all equipment and installations are well maintained with safety guards & devices and associates are using the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). \nComplete a thorough investigation of all safety near misses and accidents. \nDetermine root causes and develop an action plan to eliminate or mitigate the cause of near misses and accidents.\n\nQuality:Ensure production quality objectives are met including regular adherence to company’s manufacturing practices and conduction of product quality checks conducted in accordance with policies.\nEnsure all customer requirements are followed for each order being processed through the DC. Actively participate in prevention and correction of quality-related errors.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nBasic knowledge of paper converting manufacturing equipment and process.\nBroad business knowledge of distribution operating systems and business processes, SAP experience preferred.\nStrong leadership skills.\nDemonstrated success leading in a union environment, a plus.\nExcellent communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal.\nEffective problem solving skills and decision making abilities.\nStrong Computer Skills - Microsoft Office.\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED, required. \nMinimum of 3 years supervisory experience in distribution, manufacturing production, and/or manufacturing maintenance.\nLean Manufacturing and/or Process Improvement work experience preferred.\nWorking Conditions:\nThe employee may experience variable working conditions in the work environment.
