Remote work option may be considered on a case by case basis*\n*This position is eligible for the NANA Worley employee referral program, available only to current NANA Worley employees* \nResponsibilities\nInterprets and applies codes, procedures, standards, and specifications to accurately and efficiently produce designs which conform to applicable codes and specifications.\nInterprets complex vendor data or drawings for conformance with project requirements and initiates resolution of any problems.\nAccurately develops material takeoffs and estimates.\nProficiently operates various AutoCAD systems. Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform design tasks.\nConsistently demonstrates example skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork, handling a client’s changing needs, communications, operational efficiencies, decision making, and analyzing and solving problems.\nInspects equipment for conformance with design specifications. Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.\nAnalyzes engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design.\nDetermines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.\nProvides information to those in field construction. Provides accurate technical advice and training to others. Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.\nStudies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.\nDesign experience, which includes work connected with arctic electrical installations, NEC, motors, motor controls, and third party certifications. Preference will be given to those with experience in high voltage power lines design and/or ETAP.\nChecks various designs, diagrams, drawings, etc. for compliance with applicable codes and specifications.\nDesigns electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.\nDesigns fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment.\nDesigns applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial use.\nUses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nThe following describes the education and experience typically required to develop the competencies for each classification level; competencies may be demonstrated with other combinations of education, training, experience, and achievements:\nDesigner\n4-10 years of work experience, with oil and gas industry experienced preferred.\nSenior Designer\n8-15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.\nStaff Designer\n15+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry; or\nAssociate degree in engineering technology, electrical design, or related degree from an accredited institution and 10+ years of experience.\nSenior Staff Designer\n17+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry; or\nAssociate degree in engineering technology, electrical design, or related degree from an accredited institution and 15+ years of experience.\nPrincipal Designer\n20+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry; or\n15+ years of experience with significant Lead Designer role.\nPreferred\nApplicable Arctic/cold weather experience.\n3-D modeling experience\nLanguage Ability:\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.\nMath Ability:\nMath skills sufficient to: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent. Draw and interpret bar graphs.\nReasoning Ability:\nSolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
