Manager, Data Analytics

The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) is a dedicated team committed to delivering comprehensive support across the entire student life cycle-from admission and matriculation to graduation and beyond the classroom. SASD works collaboratively with schools, colleges, and autonomous institutes to ensure a seamless and enriching academic journey for all students.

This position sits within the Digital Innovations Team (DIT), which develops AI-enabled solutions, automates administrative processes, and delivers data-driven insights to improve staff efficiency and student experience.

We are looking for a hands-on analytics professional who can independently deliver BI, analytics, and applied AI solutions end to end. The role also provides guidance to junior team members and requires strong problem-solving and communication skills in a cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently lead data analytics and AI projects from problem definition and data exploration through solution development, evaluation, and implementation.

• Develop and oversee BI dashboards and reporting solutions, including providing hands-on support for more complex requirements where needed.

• Conduct data analysis and develop decision-support solutions that translate data into actionable insights; experience with AI-enabled analytics or analytics agents is an advantage.

• Develop and evaluate AI solutions, including RAG, AI-enabled workflows, and AI agents, where relevant to business needs.

• Apply data science approaches such as forecasting, predictive analytics, or recommendation to support business decision-making.

• Collaborate with technical teams to integrate analytics and AI solutions into operational workflows and existing platforms.

• Guide junior team members in dashboard development, data analytics, analytical problem solving, and emerging AI-enabled analytics approaches.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Typically 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or related areas, with demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver projects.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in data analysis and data science using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.

• Hands-on experience developing dashboards and analytical solutions using tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.

• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify meaningful trends and translate findings into practical business recommendations.

• Experience with forecasting, predictive analytics, recommendation, or other applied data science use cases, with the ability to apply appropriate techniques to practical business problems.

• Practical exposure to Generative AI applications, such as RAG, AI-enabled workflows, or AI agents, would be preferred; familiarity with agent development frameworks or platforms such as LangChain/LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, or Google ADK would be an advantage.

• Experience working with cloud-based data, analytics, or AI platforms; Microsoft Azure experience is preferred.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain analytical and technical work clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and provide guidance to junior team members.
