This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.\nResponsibilities\nThe Pharmacy Technician assists in preparing medications, maintaining inventory, and ensuring proper documentation, often with heightened security measures and reporting requirements due to the correctional setting. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:\nPreparing and dispensing prescription medications to inmates, often requiring careful attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols. \nManaging medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications, ensuring proper storage conditions and security. \nMaintaining accurate and up-to-date records of medication dispensed, patient information, and inventory levels. \nCommunicating with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding medication orders, patient needs, and potential issues. \nAdhering to strict security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to medications and maintain a secure environment. \nProviding basic medication information and instructions to patients, ensuring they understand how to take their medications properly. \nParticipating in quality assurance activities to ensure accurate medication dispensing and adherence to pharmacy policies and procedures.\nQualifications\nExperience / Requirements / Qualifications\nCurrent Pharmacy Technician certificate/license in State\nHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent\nPharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is preferred\nProgressive administrative/management training in a pharmacy role with purchasing knowledge preferred\nGeneral knowledge of brand to generic pharmaceutical equivalents\nMust possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)\nAttention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to patient safety\nAbility to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information\nIntegrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements\nAbility to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check\nPhysical Capabilities:\nMust have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.\nWhy Join NaphCare?\nNaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US, and we are growing.
