The supervisor is responsible for daily supervision of lab staff performing duties such as laboratory testing and data review. Duties include but are not limited to coaching, motivating, staffing, evaluating, and training staff. The supervisor works closely with the manager to ensure company and team goals are met while adhering to good manufacturing practices and CLIA/CAP guidelines.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors\nEnsures production work is consistently completed according to department goals.\nAdministers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.\nMonitors team members to ensure adherence to SOPs and safety procedures\nOversees training and development of all staff members\nDocument nonconformances and all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the established\nperformance specifications as needed. Escalates protocol deviation to lead/supervisor.\nHandles employee issues in collaboration with the department manager and Human Resources.\nEnsures alignment with team for reasoning behind instructions/processes and changes\nPlans and leads shift meetings. Meets regularly with individual team members to discuss goals and progress\nGo-to person when manager is not present.\nMay assist lab team in day-to-day tasks\nKeeps team morale up and maintains professionalism of team members, including by acting as role model.\nIdentifies trends and issues and effectively executes solutions\nActively interacts with interdepartmental teams such as OPS, Accessioning, Engineering, Stats, R&D, and Support.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nA bachelor's degree in medical technology, laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological sciences with 4.5+\nyears of industry-related experience with at least two years working in a clinical laboratory or Master's Degree in\nmedical technology, laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological sciences with 2+ years of industry-related\nexperience with at least two years working in a clinical laboratory\nCurrent ASCP certification in molecular biology (CLS, MLS, MB, MT)\nCurrent CA State CGMBS or CLS license is required for roles in California.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nProven leadership experience\nAble to take on own projects with little supervision.\nExcellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nWord processing and data management skills.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:\nProvide a brief description (3 to 5 sentences) that outline the physical needs and work environment [e.g. Duties\nare typically performed in an office setting.
