The individual is responsible for supervising and participating in operations of the histology lab.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nIn this position, you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment\n\nSupervise the day-to-day operations of the Histology department\n\nEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner\n\nDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department\n\nMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage\n\nResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed\n\nResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary\n\nEngage in continuous process and service level improvements\n\nEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control\n\nPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents\n\nEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations\n\nMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development\n\nPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations\n\nEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations\n\nResponsible for administering and managing policies and procedures\n\nProcess and maintain payroll and personnel files\n\nPerform administrative duties as needed\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's Degree required \n\nActive ASCP Board of Certification, HT(ASCP), HLT(ASCP)\n\n4+ years Histology laboratory experience required, and minimum 2 years supervisory experience \n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\n\nAble to accurately understand and convey information to team members \n\nAbility to think broadly about the importance of information. \n\nAbility to work independently\n\nStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations\n\nUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures\n\nProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office\n\nHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills\n\nComfortability making decisions in a changing environment\n\nAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position\n\n Travel required for this position:\nNo or Yes : If yes state anticipated percent for travel: N/A\n\nCompensation & Total Rewards \nThis range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base pay we reasonably expect to offer at the time of hire.
