Unloads frozen, refrigerated, dry and cleaning products into Dunkin’ and Baskin Robins stores and production kitchens via a two-wheeler hand truck and/or pallet jack in a safe manner into store locations. \nScans all product labels during store deliveries and report all orders with shorts or damages. \nMaintains proper logs of travel and product according to Federal, State and DOT regulations. \nMaintain contact with Member Services / applicable operations transportation personnel to communicate any delivery problems or delays. \nEnsures the cleanliness and presentation of the interior of the truck cab, as well as the removal of delivery-related trash at the store and production kitchen (i.e., shrink wrap, cardboard, crates and pallets). \nConduct a proper post-trip inspection to ensure equipment is in good working order to minimize delays the following day. \nTimely reports any vehicle maintenance or malfunction issues to the appropriate Transportation Supervisor. \nUtilizes a high level of customer service in serving as the primary NDCP point of contact between the Distribution Center and the customer. \nTrains and leverages a Delivery Assistant, as applicable, to ensure the accurate, timely and efficient delivery of product to customer, as well as to assist in the safe maneuvering of the truck entering, exiting and parking at delivery locations. \nTrains and monitors newer Drivers and Driver Trainees, as assigned, to ensure safe and proper driving techniques and efficiency and supports new driver DOT compliance related to on board computer utilization.\nQualifications\nQualifications you bring:\nAll candidates will be interviewed.\nSelection criteria will be based on leadership, reliability, competence, and communication/teaching skills. Seniority will serve as a tiebreaker when candidates are otherwise equally qualified.\nCandidates must be willing to complete a 30-minute e-learning course and attend a 60-minute live Teams follow-up session.\nCandidates must become certified to train defensive driving and be willing to teach the course to others and conduct safety rides.\nCandidates cannot be on any step of progressive discipline.\nThe selected candidate will receive a $2.00/hour premium for all hours worked.\nCandidates not selected may still complete the program and serve as Part-Time Driver Leads (Trainers), receiving the $2.00/hour premium only while actively training.\nTrainees will follow the trainer's schedule.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required\nCurrent Class A CDL and Medical card required\nMinimum of six (6) months of Class A CDL driving experience. Experience driving in the food industry is highly preferred\nClean motor vehicle record (MVR) in accordance with NDCP’s hiring requirements and no moving violations for the current 3-year period\nCurrent Smith System driving certification\nDriving-related accident free for the current 3-year period\nAbility and willingness to operate a manual and automatic transmission tractor\nAbility to safely operate a refrigeration unit and a lift gate\nOn Board Computer/Electronic Log System experience preferred\nAbility to read a map and/or follow written directions to navigate assigned routes efficiently and safely\nKnowledge of DOT regulations and Commercial Motor Vehicle requirements\nExcellent interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service mentality\nAbility and willingness to effectively monitor and train new Drivers for temporary periods, as assigned\nAbility to work effectively in an individual and team environment\nEffective decision-making skills and sound judgement\nAbility and willingness to work varying work schedules, as needed, to support NDCP’s operations\nAbility to lift 55 lbs.\nMust be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.\nEqual Opportunity Employer: NDCP is an equal opportunity employer.
