NDBS offers an excellent benefits and compensation program and strong career development opportunities.\nWe're looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer with 10+ years of experience in the layout and design of HVAC piping and sheet metal systems. You'll develop detailed, constructable designs in Revit, coordinate them in Navisworks and take projects from concept through installation. You'll partner with our engineers, guide junior designers, and make sure every design meets NDBS standards in the field.\nPOSITION INFORMATION\n\nItem\n\nDetail\n\nPosition Type\n\nFull Time\n\nTravel Required\n\n<10%\n\nDepartment\n\nEngineering\n\nReports To\n\nBIM Manager\n\nLocation\n\nSt. Louis, MO 63146\n\nSchedule\n\nOn-site or Remote, Monday-Friday\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nLay out and design HVAC piping systems, including but not limited to chilled water, heating hot water, condenser water, steam, refrigeration and condensate\nLay out and design sheet metal ductwork systems, including supply, return, exhaust and process air\nDevelop detailed, constructable designs in Revit to project and company standards\nRun clash detection in Navisworks and resolve conflicts with other trades\nProduce construction drawings, plans, sections and details directly from the Revit model\nSize and route piping and ductwork with engineers, accounting for access, supports, hangers and installation sequencing\nReview designs and models from junior designers, and mentor them on piping and sheet metal best practices\nParticipate in coordination meetings and track design issues through to closeout\nSupport field engineering and installation teams, including RFI responses and field changes\nMaintain project documentation, model files and records\nQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS\nRequired\nMinimum 10 years' experience in mechanical design in the HVAC or MEP industry\nStrong background in piping and sheet metal layout and design\nStrong proficiency in Revit (MEP) and Navisworks\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office\nIn-depth knowledge of HVAC piping and ductwork systems, fittings, supports and installation practices\nAbility to interpret Architectural, Structural, Civil, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection documents and models\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nSelf-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects at once\nNice to Have\nExperience in data center, healthcare, food processing, industrial or refrigerated warehouse projects\nExperience producing fabrication-level sheet metal or piping models\nSpool drawing experience using tools such as Victaulic Tools for Revit, Revit Fabrication or Trimble SysQue\nExposure to BIM execution plans and Common Data Environments (CDEs)\nPHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS\nOperate standard office equipment, computers and related software\nCommunicate effectively with engineers, designers, trade partners and field personnel to identify design and coordination issues and develop practical solutions\nWHY NDBS\nWe're committed to attracting talented people who want a company with a strong foundation of success and an outstanding culture.
