About the Role

Great Britain's electricity system is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system. You’ll be based within the Customer Connections Directorate at the National Electricity System Operator (NESO) in the Connections Hub Team.

The Connections Hub Team act as the central coordination and communication bridge between NESO and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment, clarity, and progress across the Connections function.

We have 3 roles available (2 permanent and 1 fixed term contract). These roles will work across all areas of Connections Reform, developing oversight on plans and processes, and supporting solution development for complex problems.

Through effective facilitation of workshops and meetings, the Hub ensures discussions are focused, productive, and outcome-driven working alongside the external governance process.

The Technical Coordinator will prepare high-quality materials, manage scheduling and logistics, capture clear summaries, reports, actions, and decisions, ensuring ownership, momentum and solutions are achieved.

This role is based from our Warwick office, we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

As a Technical Coordinator you will be accountable for the following:

  • Providing the interface between NESO and network operators as part of implementation and continuation of Connections Reform
  • Act as a point of contact and working with Transmission Owners (TOs), Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and NESO subject matter experts to promote and foster a collaborative way of working, identifying blockers, risks and opportunities to inter-network processes
  • Driving coordination of parties to integrate ways of working and focus on implementing tangible improvements to the Connections process
  • Support the Senior Hub Leads and work alongside the Joint Industry Governance structure across multiple workstreams with technical administration
  • Capture clear technical summaries and reports, actions, and decisions of the outputs of the working groups
  • Producing high quality, accurate outputs on complex subject matter in short timescales
  • Establishing and building relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Owning the outputs of the working groups and being accountable for ensuring progression of the actions to ensure progression of Connections reform
  • Prepare high-quality discussion materials, creating agendas and action closures
  • Managing schedules and logistics
