  • Analyse asset condition, performance and network data to produce meaningful risk insights that support operational and investment decisions.
  • Identify emerging and systemic risks, escalating material concerns through appropriate governance routes.
  • Produce clear, high-quality reporting for senior stakeholders on risk trends, control effectiveness and mitigation progress.
  • Support formal risk-based submissions including principal risk assessments, Safety Cases and ALARP assessments where required.
  • Build strong relationships across Engineering, Asset Management, Operations, Assurance and Regulatory teams, promoting accountability, learning and continuous improvement.

About you

  • Experience leading and developing technical or multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to translate complex technical, operational and financial information into clear and actionable risk insights.
  • Experience managing risk registers, governance reporting and mitigation plans.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and engage senior stakeholders.
  • A track record of improving risk processes, governance, reporting or data quality.
  • An engineering degree, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional membership and Chartered status (or progress towards this) would be advantageous.

Experience within electricity transmission, utilities or major infrastructure sectors would be beneficial, as would familiarity with Safety Cases, ALARP assessments and regulatory submissions.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about safety, reliability and continuous improvement, helping us make informed decisions that protect our network and the customers who depend on it.
