This position is responsible for locations in Malden, MA and Waltham, MA.\nJob Purpose\nThe Senior Supervisor, Fleet is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a safe and reliable fleet, along with its associated facilities.\nKey Accountabilities\nSupervises first and/or second-shift workers at one or multiple garage locations.\nEnsures that the Fleet vehicles and garages comply with all appropriate safety regulations and are managed to high safety standards.\nActively supports the Company's goal of \"zero injuries every day.\"\nEnsures that all work orders are complete and correct.\nEnsures that the financial targets are met for each garage, and for the department.\nProvides support to clients in various lines of business/departments.\nMaintains excellent relationships with clients, union leadership and employees.\nEnsures that all work orders are complete and correct.\nLeads the people in the garage(s) and develops Working Leaders to be better leaders.\nEnsures compliance with all environmental, safety and employment laws, regulations and company policies.\nResponsible for the supervision, productivity and accountability of the personnel, contractors, material and supplies required to maintain the fleet.\nCoordinate and direct workforce planning and schedules of the day or night shifts that they are assigned, while ensuring the efficient allocation of resources to maximize productivity, meet customer requirements and utilize the most cost-effective method of vehicles/equipment maintenance and repair.\nRespond to emergency requests from other departments to provide personnel and equipment in support of Storm and other Gas and Electric restoration emergencies while maintaining the integrity of Fleet Operations.\nQualifications\nSupervisory/Interpersonal experience is required\n5 Years of experience in leadership positions supervising a union workforce required.\nAbility to develop technicians to improve productivity.\nBachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred or 3-5 years of Automotive/Fleet technical and managerial experience.\n3-5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of medium/heavy-duty trucks, and mounted equipment including utility aerial equipment, light-duty vehicles and associated equipment highly preferred.\nAdvanced certifications are desired (examples: CDL license, state inspectors license, various ASE certifications). An MA CDL Class A driver's license is preferred.\nMA inspector's license for light and heavy-duty vehicles is preferred.\nASE certifications in Automotive, Medium/Heavy vehicles and Auxiliary power systems are preferred.\nStrong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.\nDemonstrated leadership skills.\nA valid drivers license is required.\nMore Information\nSalary\n$108,000-$126,000 a year\nNational Grid will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future.
