Here’s what you can expect in an early careers data and analytics role.\nData and Analytics\nIn the Business Intelligence Team, you’ll help turn data into insight that supports performance and strategic decision-making across our Chief Operating Office. With a focus on dashboard development and automation, you’ll learn how to make information clearer, more accessible and easier to use. In this role, you will:\nHelp develop dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Excel to present performance information clearly.\nSupport automation and improvements to reporting processes, with opportunities to work with Power Apps and other tools.\nHelp create clear, concise reports for senior leaders, highlighting key trends and insights to support strategic decision-making.\nBuild relationships with colleagues across the function, understand their information needs and communicate insights clearly\nWhere you’ll be working\nYou'll join the Business Intelligence Team in our Chief Operating Office (COO), which turns data into insight to support performance and strategic decision-making across the function. The team brings together data to create dashboards and reporting that help colleagues understand performance and make informed decisions. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll develop practical skills in dashboard development and automation, using Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, Jira and other tools.\nLocation \nAt Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.\nFor this job you'll spend at least two days per week based at our Glasgow office.\nIf we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.\nWhat you’ll be doing on the Data and Analytics Development Programme\nThe Data and Analytics Development Programme is a two-year programme, with the next intake commencing in September 2027.\nDuring the programme, you’ll join the Business Intelligence Team in the Chief Operating Office, helping turn data into insights and dashboards that support performance and strategic decision-making across the function.\nYou’ll start with an induction programme before joining a structured learning pathway. You’ll learn more about Nationwide, connect with colleagues and build the foundations for your role through data and analytics learning, digital learning, interactive workshops and insight from leaders and industry experts.\nYour learning will build your understanding of data analysis, visualisation and automation before you put this into practice within your team. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting real business needs, with guidance from experienced colleagues.\nThroughout the two years, you’ll develop practical experience in analysing data, building dashboards and automating reporting. You’ll work with data from a range of different sources, learning how to turn information into clear, useful insights.\nYou’ll work with Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, Jira and other tools to support analysis, dashboard development and automation, building your technical skills through practical experience.\nNo two days are the same. You could help develop a Power BI dashboard, explore patterns in Jira data, improve an Excel report or support the automation of a manual process. You’ll work with colleagues across the Chief Operating Office to understand the questions they need to answer and present information in ways that help them make decisions.\nYou’ll develop skills in data analysis, visualisation, automation, stakeholder management, communication, problem solving, planning and prioritisation.
