Natixis in Portugal is currently seeking a motivated and skilled COBOL Mainframe Developer (French Speaker) to join its BPCE SI (Solutions Informatiques) team.
The ideal candidate should have a senior background in COBOL development within the banking sector and be proficient in both French and English.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications in compliance with business requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and define requirements.
- Perform code reviews, debugging, and testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Utilize Pacbase tools to enhance application performance and functionality.
- Document technical specifications and processes for ongoing maintenance and future development.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for existing applications and systems.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to COBOL and mainframe development.
- Mentor junior developers as needed and share best practices.
Hard Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in COBOL development.
- Proficiency in Pacbase and experience with related tools and frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- proficiency in French is mandatory.
Soft Skills:
- Dynamic and proactive.
- Strong problem solving skills.
