This includes tasks such as installing, configuring, and supporting of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). The Network Administrator will also conceive, design, test, and implement improvements to the information systems infrastructure.\nResponsibilities\nMain Ingredients:\nResponsible for the following items:Assumes the responsibility for following all documented policies that the IT Department has in place.\nFollows procedures to install, implement and support perimeter and internal network design, reliability/stability, network security to ensure the appropriate layers of security software and devices are correctly configured, deployed and maintained. This includes, but is not limited to configure, secure and monitor products within the following series:Cisco 2900/3500/3700 switches (layer 2 and layer 3)\nPalo Alto Firewalls \nLumen managed Versa SDWAN network \nCisco Meraki Wireless platform\nCloud hosted proxy servers\nMicrosoft Azure networking \nOpenGear console servers \nResponsible for the entire network at Natural Grocers\n\nPossesses strong network foundation knowledge such as OSI Model, TCP/IP fundamentals, network switch functions, network router functions, and network router functions. \nEstablishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflows, access controls, information and security requirements; designing hardware administration, including interface configurations and routing protocols (dynamic and static).\nFollows procedures to secure the network by applying network access policies, maintaining network segmentation, monitoring various controls and evaluating all logs and alerts.\nFollows procedures to review and monitor logs on various systems (servers and network devices), scrutinizing network traffic and devices for any hardware/software/interface issues, evaluating inconsistent adherence to security policies, etc.\nAnalyzes and resolves any alerts (hardware, software, security, etc.) All alerts must be responded to according to the severity level of the alert. Monitoring alerts on the weekend will be required via email, and escalations to various crew members may be needed.\nWorks with the other crew members to conduct audits and ensure network segmentation is in place.\nFollows procedures to ensure that the network(s) are locked down and segmented.\nFollows procedures to activate new circuits (convert from a single or bonded-T1 to an ethernet circuit with CenturyLink and remote boots on the ground).\nAnalyzes problems and provides technical assistance to solve them. \nFollows procedures to evaluate and remediate the networking performance issues, including availability, utilization, QoS, throughput and latency.\nFollows procedures to configure, install, test and maintain of all network related devices.\nContacts various vendors and arranges for repair, troubleshooting, updates, etc. for software and hardware related issues within the networking department.\nCross trains any other IT crew member will be conducted on networking related items. \nProtects organization's value by keeping information confidential.\nSupports tier 1 and tier 2 related requests for issues in production, testing, and development environments.\nAssists in creating and defining network policies and procedures.\nAssists in documenting all aspects of the network.\nAssists in documenting all standards and procedures.\nEstablishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with Company staff (good4u crew, management, etc.). This includes maintaining regular contact with all departments to obtain information and to correct error(s) in the network operations.\nAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.\nFollows procedures to remediate any PCI/Vulnerability assessments. \nFollows procedures to analyze and determine if new products/services are safe for the environment based on PCI and SOX compliance standards.\nWorks on projects with internal and external resources, and completing project on time, on budget, and as promised.\nSupports SOX and PCI compliance and internal audit tasks.\nUnderstands and abides by change control practices.\nProvides outstanding customer service and a happy attitude to our employees, stores, and customers. \nSchedules, maintains, and participates in the on-call rotation, respond to all messages sent by Natural Grocers staff in a timely manner, including off hours and vacations.\nSome after hours work (post 5:00pm) may and will be required from time to time. The frequency will vary based on the project(s) at hand; however, you will still be required to maintain the computing and network environment, installing/upgrading various systems and monitoring network performance during this time.\nOther duties, as assigned.\nAlthough this is a general outline of job responsibilities all employees are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive.\nQualifications\nRecipe for Success:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience combined is required\nPossession of a network administration certificate (i.e. Comptia Net+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)) is desired\n3 years network Administrator for a mid-size enterprise (500+ employees, multiple domains, 20+ locations, 4+ IT team members)\n3 years of experience administering Cisco centric network environment (switch configurations)\nWorking knowledge of how firewalls and access lists work \nWorking knowledge of how availability monitoring software works to monitor network hardware devices\nWorking knowledge of how network device logging works Strong communications skills, consistently hitting deadlines, staying within budgets, and achieving all project deliverables\nStrong network troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including application and network-level troubleshooting\nDedicated to providing outstanding customer service to our employees, stores, and customers\nScripting experience for task automation desired \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nExperience with hardware maintenance and lifecycle\nITIL Foundation certification a plus\nExperience with various frameworks, compliance regulations, and how to secure systems based on them (CIS Controls, NIST, PII/PCI, SOX, etc.)\nMaintains a positive and supportive attitude when communicating with others\nSelf-driven / Self-motivated to learn new skills \nUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participates in professional organizations\nSome travel may be required\nOther job duties as required\nThis job description is not an employment contract.
